The gentle sunlight caresses me as I start to walk towards my new place of employment. Today will be my first day officially working for Lipstick Kiss. I never would have imagined working at a place like Lipstick Kiss. I'm super motivated for this new job! I'm sure it won't be easy at first, and that ill encounter a lot of difficulties. But I want to do that I can to help my uncle's dream be realised. That's the absolute truth.
I suddenly think back to what my uncle Motoki told me yesterday ... "if you're going to work in this world, no matter what the reason you might have and no matter how well you get to know the cast, you must never fall in love with any of them." That's what he said... but that wouldn't happen in a million years anyways.
At least that what I thought that day...
"Good morning" Voice scratchy with nervousness.
Kaoru: "Yuzuha! Good morning, sweetie. Did you sleep okay last night? I imagine you were probably really tired rom learning all that stuff."
"I didn't really sleep well as a matter of fact."
Kaoru: "Hmm, you do seem a little tired. Do you want me to get you some coffee?"
"No, it's fine! I'm actually feeling pretty alert already."
Kaoru: " "I'm glad our newbie's so reliable. I also appreciate that you really tried hard to understand your uncle's love for this job."
"Yeah ... thanks again for giving me a chance."
Kaoru: " "And thank YOU for giving us a chance! Well let's just have you dive right in. Yesterday I had you on phones, so today... "
??: "So you came..."
"Huh?" I turned around at the familiar voice behind me. "Hozumi!" He doesn't turn around to look at me. Instead he just lowers his eyes. His emotionless eyes make my heart skip a beat.
Hozumi Aito: "You looked exhausted when you went home yesterday so I just assumed you weren't coming back."
What? For a moment, I wasn't sure what he meant... Wait he thinks I'm a quitter?? Well I can't let that one slide. I turn to face him head on, staring him dead in the eye unflinching.
Hozumi Aito: "What..?" He raises an eyebrow in slight annoyance. I purse my lips and quickly organise my thoughts before I speak.
"Don't you remember what you told me?! I have no tight to condemn a world I don't understand. Hozumi Aito: "Yeah..."
"Well I think you're right. I still don't completely understand anything yet. But I'm still going to stick to it until I do understand so I hope you show me the same respect I show you at work." I say curtly, with a little bow. My tone is bland and emotionless, just like his eyes.
Hozumi Aito: " "I see... Fine. Do whatever"
That's all? Do whatever? I was hoping I conveyed my thoughts to him. I stare blankly after him, completely at a loss.
Kaoru: "Oh, please! You didn't have to speak to her that way. Yuzuha promised she would work hard for us! You need to show her some support, Aito."
Hozumi Aito: "Support?"
Kaoru: "Yuzuha might not be part of the cast but she is a co-worker. I'm sure there are plenty of things that you can teach her in the department."
Hozumi Aito: " "Things I can teach her..." drops his gaze in thought. I almost let his brooding long lashed eyes hypnotize me but then... he gets off the sofa and walks over to me, suddenly grabs my chin and tils it upwards.
