Mike lifts up the blanket as El and I played with a machine. "Hey, you found my supercomm. Pretty cool, huh? I talk to my friends with it. Mostly Lucas, 'cause he lives so close. Signals pretty weak." Mike smiles as he pulls out food from his pocket, handing it to El and me. "Got you breakfast. So listen, this is gonna sound a little weird, but I just need you two to go out there. Then go to the front door and ring the doorbell. My mom will answer, and you guys can tell her that you're lost and that you need help. But whatever you do, you can't tell her about last night or that you know me. Understand? Really, it's no big deal. We'll just pretend to meet each other again. And my mom, she'll know who to call." Mike explains. "No," I blurt. "No?" Mike questions. "No," El repeat, shaking her head. "No... you don't want my mom to get help?" Mike asks. I shake my head, no. "You're in trouble, aren't you? Who... Who are you in trouble with?" Mike asks. "Bad," I reply. "Bad? Bad People?" Mike asks. El nods her head. "They want to hurt you? The bad people?" Mike asks. El takes her finger, pointing it at us, then Mike. "Understand?" She asks. "Michael, where are you? We're going to be late. Let's go," a voice shouts from upstairs. "All right, we'll be back. Just stay here, okay? Stay here," Mike reassures us before putting the blanket back down.

Mike comes back a little while later and takes us upstairs. "You want anything to drink? We have OJ, skim milk... What else? Um, we have..." he began. I looked around before spotting a TV. "Oh, this is my living room. It's mostly just for watching TV. Nice, right? It's a 22-inch. That's, like, ten times bigger than Dustin's," Mike bragged. El walked around as I stayed with Mike near the TV. "Pretty," El muttered. "I guess. That's my sister Nancy. And that's baby Holly. And those are my parents. What are your parents like? Do they live close?" Mike asks. "My dad..." I begin, trying to remember him. El walked over to a chair. "That's our La-Z Boy. It's where my dad sleeps. You can try it if you want. Yeah. It's fun," Mike exclaimed. El sits down in the chair, Mike squats beside her as I watch. "Just trust me, okay?" Mike requested. EL nodded slowly. Mike pulled a lever, sending the chair and El to recline back. "See? Fun right?" Mike chuckled as he set the chair back up. "Now you try," Mike smiled. El pulled the lever, making her go back again. Mike and I laugh as the chair rocks back and forth.

Mike slammed a figure down onto his table. "Ready are you? What knows you of ready?" Mike exclaims in a high-pitched voice. "His name's Yoda. He can use the Force to move things with his mind, like this. Whoosh!" Mike explained, pushing a bunch of things off his table. El got up as Mike continued to talk. She walks over to a dresser. Mike and I follow her. "Oh, these are all my science fair trophies. We got first every year. Except for last year when we got third. Mr. Clarke said it was totally political," Mike babbled. El points to a boy in a picture. "You know Will? Did you see him? Last night? On the road?" Mike questioned. We hear a car pull up, making us swivel around to the window. "We gotta go," Mike panicked. He grabbed our arms, pulling El and I out of the room. We made it halfway down the stairs before his mom got home.

"Ted? Is that you?" She called out. "Just me, Mom!" Mike yelled as we run into his room. Mike led us into a small closet. "In here. I'll be right back, okay? Please, you have to get in, or my mom, she'll find you. Do you understand? I won't tell her about you. I promise," Mike begged. "Promise?" El questioned. "It means something that you can't break. Ever," Mike explained. "Michael?" Mike's mom yelled. "Please?" Mike begged. El sighed before walking into the closet, I followed her in. I turn around as Mike shuts the door in our face. My breathing begins to get heavier as I remember something.

FLASHBACK

Two men carried me away into a van as I screamed. "Dada! Dada! Dada! No! No! No!" I sob as the men toss me into the car and begin to drive away from the Hospital that my parents were inside of. When we get to the secret location, the men cover my eyes until we get inside. When we get inside, they toss me in a small room, locking me in.

FLASHBACK OVER

El and I slide down the wall at the same time. I look up as I hear the door open. "Mike," El and I sob. "Is everything okay?" he asks. I nod. "Are you sure?" he questions. "Promise," I smile.

El and I sat on Mike's bed as Dustin and Lucas enter his room. "Are you out of your mind?" Lucas asks Dustin. "Just listen to me," Mike begged. "You are out of your mind!" Lucas exclaimed. "She knows about Will," Mike blurt. "She pointed at him, at his picture. She knew he was missing. I could tell." Mike explained. "You could tell?" Lucas repeat. "Just think about it. Do you really think it was a coincidence that we found them on Mirkwood, the same place where Will disappeared?" Mike questions. "That is weird," Dustin admits. "And she said bad people are after them. I think maybe these bad people are the same ones that took Will. I think they know what happened to him," Mike whispers. "Then why doesn't she tell us?" Lucas asks before glaring at El. Lucas walks over to her, Dustin and Mike follow. "Do you know where he is?" Lucas asks. "Do you know where Will is?" he repeats, grabbing onto her shoulders. I watch in fear. "Stop it, you're scaring her!" Mike yells. "She should be scared! If you know where he is, tell us! This is nuts. We have to take her to your mom." Lucas demands. "No, Eleven and y/n said telling any adult would put us in danger," Mike explains. "What kind of danger?" Dustin asks. "Her name is Eleven?" Lucas follows. "El for short," Mike replies. "Mike, what kind of danger?" Dustin repeats. "Danger Danger," Mike explains, putting finger guns to their heads like El did last night. Lucas slaps his hand away. "No, no, no! We're going back to plan A. We're telling your mom," Lucas storms to the door. He opens the door, but El must've slammed it shut. Lucas tried to open the door again, but El closed it. I then use my powers to make Lucas walk away from the door. The boys turn to us. "No," We demand, my nose beginning to bleed as El's had been bleeding from before.

The boys all went down to eat dinner. Mike told El and I to stay in his room. El began to leave the room. "Where are you going?" I ask. "Down," El replied before walking to the stairs. I hesitantly follow her. We see everyone eating dinner and watch as the boys begin to freak out. I make my way down to the basement, where I waited for them. "El? Y/n?" Mike called out as he walked into the basement. "No adults. Just us and some meatloaf. Don't worry. They won't tell anyone about you. They promise. Right?" Mike reassures me. "We never would've upset you if we knew you guys had superpowers," Dustin giggled. "What Dustin is trying to say is that they were just scared...earlier. That's all," Mike explains. "We just wanted to find our friend," Lucas adds. "Friend?" El questions. "Yeah, friend. Will?" Lucas exclaims. "What is 'friend'?" El asks. "Is she serious?" Lucas questions. "Um, a friend--" "Is someone that you'd do anything for," Mike explains, cutting Lucas off. "You lend them your cool stuff, like comic books and trading cards." Dustin smiles. "And they never break a promise," Mike adds. "Especially when there's spit," Lucas follows. "Spit?" I repeat. "A spit swear means... *spits* you never break your word," Lucas exclaimed, taking Dustin's hand and shaking his spit covered hand with it. "It's a bond," he exclaims. Dustin looks down at his hand and groans. "That's super important, because friends... they tell each other things. Things that parents don't know," Mike explains. El got up, walking over to a table. Even I'm confused as to what she's doing. "What's the weirdo doing?" I hear Lucas ask. "El? Mike questions. She picks up a wizard figure. "Will," I blurt. "Superpowers," Dustin adds. "Did you see him? On Mirkwood? Do you know where he is?" Mike asks. El wipes off the board and flips it over. She takes Will's piece and slams it down on the board. I go over and sit next to her, understanding what she's doing. "I don't understand," Mike muttered. "Hiding," I whisper. "Will is hiding?" Mike asks. El nods. "From the bad men?" Mike asks. El shook her head, no. "Then from who?" Mike questions. I place the Demogorgon piece down next to Will. I look over at Mike, then El.
