I HEAD off to potions, chatting with my friend, Mason, as we enter the class.

"Morning Professor."

"Good morning boys!"

It's easy to get away with stuff in Slughorn's class, he's asleep most of  the time or obsessing over his prize students, honestly it's a bit irritating if you ask me.

I take my seat beside Mason and bring out my caldron, winking at Dromeda as she comes in the room.

She rolls her eyes and sits down in her seat, beside Layla Avery, the biggest bitch in the galaxy I reckon. I look at Andromeda. She's so beautiful. Potions is by far, one of my preferred classes of the day. Quite simply because she's in it.

"Good morning everyone! Now today, we will not be starting a new potion, but we will simply be learning about it. This is your first class of fifth year potions and this year you really need to pay attention, that means you Mr Tonks, yes you."

Everyone laughs and I roll my eyes.

"This year you have the exams that will help decide your future. So your priorities must be on your studies, to work hard so you can have a good life as you grow older."

We all nod along and I look out the window. There's a cute little pigeon and I laugh to myself, it's holding a stick and now I'm imagining it with a little wizard's hat.

I don't realize I'm laughing out loud before Mason nudges me. I turn back to the front, Dromeda catching my eye, a hint of amusement on her face.

"Today, we will be studying the potion Amortentia. This is a potion many describe as a love potion though it cannot create love at all, but just a powerful obsession in the drinker."

Everyone's taking notes but I don't bother, I'll remember it all anyways and I can just borrow someone else's notes later on.

I look over at Andy, simply studying her as I do everyday, like the way the light hits her lips, so shiny and soft. She chews on the end of her quill while Slughorn talks, eyes focused on the task. I watch the way her leg bounces, unnoticed by her. Just a nervous tick. She's so beautiful. Her hair is it a bun at the top of her head, a few loose strands standing out. Outstandingly beautiful.

"Mr Tonks!" I shoot my head up, looking over.

"Yes sir?"

"Will you stop staring at Miss Black for one minute and pay attention to the lesson." Andromeda's face flushes pink and I wink at her.

"Ah, but sir, I was listening!"

"Then what did I just say?"

"You were describing how Amortentia cannot create love, just creating a strong obsession and explained how it releases the scent of what a person loves most."

He glares, disappointed I knew it all.

"Mmm. You're lucky you can multitask. Just stop staring at Miss black, she obviously is not interested in you, Mr Tonks."

"Well, now you don't get an invite to our wedding!"

Andromeda goes red again, covering her face and I cackle. It's fun making jokes like this. I do only mean half of them. Ha.

"Now as I said, the smell varies on what a person likes the most, what attracts them the most. For some it could be the smell of fresh parchment or lavender! It can be anything really, but most of the time it is something we don't expect until we smell it and realize."

I nod along as everyone takes notes, leaning back on my stool.

Writing on the board as he talks, he goes back to explaining.

"The potion has a light pearly sheen to it, that is if it's made properly. This potion is one of the most powerful potions to ever exist."

Half the class laughs and Malfoy decides to open that big stupid mouth of his.

"Most powerful? It's only a love potion."

"Mr Malfoy, if someone gave you this they would have complete control over you. You've be bound to them, obsessed with them, creating a sense of love. If you're given this you lose control of your free thoughts, of who you are. It can cause you to be dangerous, emotionally unstable willing to hurt anyone or do anything to get to be with the person who gave you the potion."

We go silent, more focused and eager to learn more. I actually begin to take notes.

"This potion is extremely advanced and it needs extreme focus and care to make. As I said, you might not even be aware of what your smell is. Even if you are unaware of your fondness for something or even someone."

I glance my eyes over to Dromeda, wondering what she smells. Maybe it's me. Ha. As if.

"It should NEVER be used and I must say never to create love. It has awful affects on a person. It is said that people who were conceived under the use of Anromentia are unable to feel love as they grow older. Unable to feel affection for anyone but themselves."

Didn't think such a harmless looking potion could be so bad.

He went on the describe the ingredients and method, saying if we write it down it will help us memorize it in the long run. I remember everything anyways, not to be cocky, but my memory is excellent.

"I want you to read up on this potion in Advanced Potion Making, page 348. I will now put you in the pairs with who you will be making the potion with in the next week."

He reads out names, my mind zoning out just waiting for my name to be called.

"Ah, and that leaves us with Andromeda Black and Ted Tonks."

My head shoots up as I hear Dromeda softly mumble, "Oh no." I get up and walk over to her.

"Oh, yes. Hello partner." She sighs and rubs her face.

"This assignment is going to be dreadful."

"Aw, Dromeda, no it won't." I smile innocently, soon dropping it as I hear a git speak!

"Watch it, Andromeda. You don't want to catch any of his mudblood diseases." I roll my eyes and glare at the bastard. Edmund Parkinson. This makes Layla Avery laugh like crazy.

I look at Edmund and smile, forcing a cough right into his face, taking a bow right after.

Dromeda rolls her eyes, grabbing her stuff and walking out the class. I walk after her, flipping Avery and Parkinson off on my way out and I throw my arm around her shoulders.

"I know you secretly adore me."

"You? An ignorant lazy obvious bloke that has his head so far up his arse he doesn't pay attention to anything nor anyone? I think I have better taste than that."

"Aww, don't be like that! Just show me some love!"

"You're so very irritating. Please leave me alone." I move my arm off her and laugh a bit.

"Sorry, sweetiepie."

"Ted shut up and bugger off you git." She shoves past me and walks off.

Didn't expect that. She tells me to go away but I mean I've never hear that girl be so rude! Quite a turn on if I am being honest, but I find everything she does a turn on.

I head back to my dorm, wondering why on earth, out of all the girls at Hogwarts who DON'T have a discriminative stuck up bigoted family, who hates people like me, I have to fall hardest for the one with the family that is worse than all the others put together.

Great going Ted, great going.
