After Camila had woken up, we eat breakfast in the kitchen with my mother.

"Shawn you are being inadmissible. I can't believe you left the girl alone here yesterday to go to a party..." My mother looks at me disaprovingly.

"It's fine. He had a serious reason to go" says Camila with a slight dark humor.

I don't understand her tone but I continue to eat without talking.

"Will you take Hailey to the rain of stars tonight?" asks Camila When my mother disapeared to put stuff back to their places.

"What?" I say surprised.

"Shawn. Today's the first day of rain of stars for this year. The most romantic event of the year."

"Ah yeah that. Look, I would prefer to work on the song but..."

"But Hailey expects you to go to the starlight."

"To the what?" I ask like I'm stupid.

"Starlight is the party in the beach where you watch the rain of stars. Do you live under a rock?" she giggles.

"For how many years does this happen?" I question. I had no idea.

"I don't know... Forever I guests. You've never been to one?" she asks clearly surprised.

"No..."

"Well then tonight's your night!" she smiles.

"Will you come?" I ask.

"I have never missed one since I Was a kid. Hell yeah I will." she says looking at me King of proudly.

"Right... do I have to bring something romantic for Hailey or something?"

"I've never had a boyfriend to know. But usually, from what I see every year, a romantic picnic will be just fine." she says and turns her to her phone.

I notice she hasn't eaten almost anything.

"Why aren't you eating? Don't you like pancakes?"

"Of course. I'm just full..."

"But you haven't eaten even half." I say worried.

She has lost a few pounds recently. I have to feed her if she doesn't want to lose her strength (what she has left anyway).

"I'm not hungry chewy. I'm fine really." she smiles at me.

I don't talk about food again but I have to keep it in mind for a bit.

...

When I open the door of the co-driver's seat for Hailey to get out, the beach already had filled. It's almost 1 am and the stars will start to call on 3 am, according to the news.

"I hate the sand but you're so romantic I'll tolerate it." says Hailey, already shaking the sand out of her shoes.

I smile and take her hand. We walk along the beach, where most people are sitting.

They have lit small fires and sit, laughing and having fun.

I put the rug down and the picnic basket and help Hailey sit down, because I know how much she hates the sand.

We eat and talk for a bit, without saying something with meaning.
