I stared ahead as I walked on the streets of Gotham City.

I had just come from school, Gotham Academy to be exact. If you know me, you know I'm orphaned and that my foster mom is a bitch, so she wouldn't pay for this stuff. I actually got a scholarship, for my 'excelent performance' at school. I don't know what they're talking about, but maybe they're talking about the cannon thing? Or the fish tank thing? I think they want  me to blow this school up.

Anyways, as I was saying, I was walking towards my foster house (not to be confused with the word home, because home means being safe, and I was nowhere near safe with Carol and Arnold, my foster parents), pulling my skirt down, as it was way too short for my liking, when I got pulled into an alleyway.

The man was holding a knife at my throat and started groping me. I yelled for help and pushed away and got into a fighting stance. The skirt would be a minor inconvinience, but I could still beat up this guy. God, I wish I could wear my suit!

The man smirked. "Feisty, are we? When I'm done with y--" He never got to finish his sentence because after two loud gunshots, blood started dripping from his torso. He coughed blood, before falling to the ground face-first.

I turned the man's body around and removed my jacket. With the fabric, I applied pressure on the guy's wounds. Only then I looked at my 'saviour' .

He had a tall muscular build, and wore a black shirt with a red bat simbol, with a brown leather jacket and combat boots. On his head, he had a red helmet that concealed his identity. He had one gun in his hand, pointed at the ground carelessly. The Red Hood.

"Come on! I could've handled it!" I said to him, exasperated that I got into this kind of situation.

He holstered his gun and I swear he backed away a bit, not familiar with this situation. "I saved you, woman! Why are you not thanking me?"

I rolled my eyes. "I could've beaten him up by myself! Now I have to deal with this situation!" I mumblet angrily to myself as I removed one hand from the man's torso and dialed 911. This wouldn't have been normally possible, but Leo worked on this while we were travelling on the Argo II.

I started to tear up when I thought about Leo. He was suck a great kid! He would've found a wife (or husband, I don't judge), settled down, had kids (or adopted), if it weren't for my stupid ass.

Keep in mind a man with a gun was stil towering over me, looking confused as ever.

The phone picked up and a woman talked. "911, what's your emergency?"

"A man attempted to rape me and a guy shot him twice a-and ran off!" I tried to sound panicked, wich was easy, since I was crying.

"Where are you ma'am?" the operator asked me.

"I'm at the alley between Shirley Avenue and Lake Street. Hurry, he's losing a lot of blood!" I then immediatly hung up. And stared at the Red Hood, who was still standing there.

"Why did you lie? And why are you crying?" he asked me suddently. "You wouldn't be crying for this bastard." he nudged the guy's head with his combat boot.

"Uh--, it's nothing." I said quickly, waaay too quickly. I winced. "Shouldn't you be going? The police is going to get here any moment and I don't think it's going to look good for either of us."

He stood there, the mask's eyes on my face before reluctantly turning around and climbing the fire escape. He turned his head around once more."See ya' around!"

I waved as he finally dissapeared from my field of view.

I sighed, smiling sadly.

"Carol's going to beat me up." I thought.

I heard the sirens getting closer.
