It was a bright and sunny day, a rather good one too. That is, until my dad came home with bad news. We were moving to Mythicalville where my dad would look for a new job. I was just now making friends here in Creature Town. It couldn't get any worse could it? Well, then it did. I was taking down my calendar, imagining what my birthday party was going to be like when Kokai, my ghost ninja brother, walked in. "Hey, sis," he said with a big smirk. "Good luck having a birthday party with no friends" he said.
"Kokai!" I said. "You know not to make a vampire angry!"
"And you should know not to attack a ghost." He disappeared into thin air when I tried to attack him. Kokai had been standing in front of a wall so I hit my head. Big brothers are terrible.
I continued packing up until only my furniture remained in my room. I was not looking forward to tomorrow. Honestly, how could we be moving tomorrow and not even know 'til now? I sat down on my bed to find something else already there.
"How long have you been there, Kokai? Do I even WANT to know?" I said.
"Short enough to tell you you're annoying. Long enough to tell you you're an idiot." he said.
"Sounds like you, yep!"
I sighed. Again, big brothers are horrible.
Dad walked in, "Kokai stop messing with your sister and go finish packing your stuff."
Kokai walked away grumbling.
"Now Ari" he continued. "Don't you want to tell all of your friends goodbye?"
I sighed and said "Dad you keep forgetting I am the only fairy vampire in Creature Town and everyone is afraid of me." My dad didn't look too happy about that but walked away anyway.
I drew in my sketch book until it was dinner time. We had bloody worms and caterpillars (my favorite). We were all pretty quiet at the table until my mom freaked out because Spaja had jumped from the chandelier onto the table. It was hilarious if I were to say so myself, but mom didn't think the same way about that.
"Ari! Get your rat thingamabob off the table! And then get some disinfectant wipes!" My mom hissed.
"Spaja is not a rat thingamabob!" I screamed.
"Whatever! Same thing! Now do what I said!"
I did what my mom had ordered me to do for one reason only...Kokai. Anytime mom or dad had told me to do something, if I didn't do it Kokai would attempt to kill me. Even worse, if mom or dad told him to do something, he made me do it, or he would also attempt to kill me. It was a loose, loose situation. Why he wanted me to do what mom had told me to do is a long story we will have to save for a different time.
I went to bed after that not thinking about the next day.
When I woke up the next morning I knew we had a long drive ahead of us. On the way Kokai kept complaining about EVERYTHING! "Mom, it's too cold" or "Dad slow down I'm trying to sleep" and sometimes even "Ari is sitting on the seats when I told her to sit on the floor" I decided to take a nap to pass time, that was not a good idea! Why? I brought my markers with me in the car to draw sketches. However, that's not what Kokai used them for. When I woke up I looked in my window, the best mirror I had at the time, and I had EVERTHING from mustaches to unicorns all over, not only my face but my entire body! I told mom and she said "Did you leave your markers out where Kokai could see them? And did you fall asleep giving him the opportunity to do what he did?" I just rolled my eyes and thought "Oh, so it's MY fault because I fell asleep?"
Finally, we arrived at the new house, which was a lot bigger than our old one. Carrying everything in was a disaster! Only for me though...
"Ari, now since you're... you, you are going to carry my suitcase, my electronics, my bathroom products, my furniture, and umm... anything else you can see that's mine." Kokai said with a grin that always made my day miserable.
Now, that could have been the end of it.... but it wasn't.
"Ari, your father and I are going to make the neighbors brownies. This means you are going to carry ALL our stuff in. Do you understand?" Mom said very seriously.
"Yeah, yeah. Not like I have anything else to do!" I said sarcastically.
"Great then you'll be right on then, right?" Dad said.
I sighed this was going to be a long day.
As time passed, more and more got carried in, by whom? ME!
The very first set of neighbors came over that evening. They have a girl around my age. She is...well...um... interesting. If I heard her correctly her name is So Mi. All I know is I can't be friends with a pirate pop star.
