Scorose

chapter 2

Before they knew it they had reached Hogwarts.

Rose stared at it in amazement as they all exited the boats to go with the other first years.

They went inside the school where Mcgonagall was waiting for them.

She said "Welcome to Hogwarts first years now in just a few minutes you will be sorted into your houses. The houses are Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. For any good deeds your house will be rewarded points but if you do something wrong points will be taken from your house". Understand? She waited for the first years to nod before she continued on by saying "Good now follow me please".

The doors to the great hall swung open and all the first years had shocked expressions on their faces as they looked around the great hall and saw loads of other students who were sitting with their houses. And they saw the  long tables where all the teachers and the rest of the staff sat at.

Mcgonagall told the first students to wait in a line until their name was called for them to be sorted into their house. She reached for a stool and the sorting hat and she held the list of names in her hand and said "Scorpius Malfoy".

Scorpius looked incredibly nervous before going up there but Albus encouraged him and said "It'll be alright".

Rose added on saying "You'll be fine there's no reason to be nervous".

Scorpius smiled at her and said "Thanks".

Rose smiled back unable to speak.

Scorpius sat on the stool and Mcgonagall put the hat on his head then the hat shouted out "Oh another boy from the Malfoy family hmm what to do with you? very smart yes and very ambitious I know just what to do with you". The hat yelled "Slytherin".

The rest of the slytherins cheered and patted Scorpius on the back when he went to go join them.

Mcgonagall called other students that were sorted into each of the other houses then she said "Rose Granger Weasley".

Rose nervously sat on the stool as Mcgonagall placed the hat on her head.

The sorting hat said "Hmm another one of the Weasley clan oh and the Granger family hmm what to do with you? I know". The sorting hat shouted "Gryffindor".

Rose smiled as she sat with the rest of the gryffindors.

After a while Mcgonagall said "Albus Potter".

Albus went up to sit under the sorting hat and it said "Hmm another potter son of the boy who lived but different hmm I know what to do with you". 

The sorting hat shouted "Slytherin".

Everyone started whispering and then the room went quiet.

Albus looked around confused as to what the sorting hat had just said.

Albus went over to sit with the slytherins in shock. He couldn't believe that he had been sorted into slytherin.

Albus put his head down not wanting to talk to anyone. Scorpius looked over at Rose and she looked back and they both shrugged at Albus and went back to talking to their tables and eating since there was a huge feast.

Later that evening Scorpius and Rose tried to talk to Albus but he shouted at them saying to leave him alone so they did.

Rose said "I just really want to know if my cousin is okay".

Scorpius said "I know and I want to see if my new best friend is okay".

Rose said "He clearly doesn't want to be bothered so maybe it's best if we leave him alone".

Scorpius said "If that's best".

Rose said "It's the only thing we can do right now anyways we should get back with our houses I'll see you tomorrow goodnight Scorpius".

Scorpius said "Night Rose". Then he went off to join the rest of the slytherins as Rose went with the gryffindors.

When Rose had caught up with the rest of the gryffindors the headgirl said "First years listen up now the girls dormitories are on the right and the boys are on the left also the portrait hole password changes every week so this week's password is portkey also you need to remember each one so you can into your dormitory".

The portrait opened and Rose was amazed as she saw the beautiful couches and lights throughout the room. 

Night had fallen and Rose climbed into her bed that night feeling at peace but she was still worried about Albus and she hoped he was alright.

The next morning Rose and Scorpius were going to their classes when Rose said "Hey where's Albus".

Scorpius shrugged and said "I haven't seen him still breakfast I'm guessing he's still upset about the sorting".

Rose said "I hope he comes around I miss annoying him all the time".

Scorpius chuckled and said sadly "I wish I had a cousin like that it's just me and my dad now since my mother died".

Rose said "Oh Scorpius I'm so sorry about that I'm sure she was an amazing person".

Scorpius said "She was".

Rose took his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze, she said "I hope you know I will always be here for you you're never alone".

Scorpius smiled at her squeezing her hand back warmly and said "Thanks for everything".

Rose said "Anytime". He let go of her hand and pulled her into a hug and she embraced him back and all the sudden he started crying.

Rose comforted him and gently rubbed his back saying "It's okay".

Scorpius said in tears "You're amazing you know that ".

Rose smiled still hugging him and said "You are too".

He pulled back from the hug after several long moments and wiped his face and said "Thanks for the comfort I didn't know if you'd hug me back but I just really needed one".

Rose said "Anytime".

Scorpius said "We should probably get to class now".

Rose said "Oh yeah let's go we don't want to be late on our first day of lessons".

Scorpius smiled at her and the two of them walked off to lessons together.
