I shall abide;
live and breathe
and have my being
under the shadow
of these wings
.
Here I soar
and finding rest
No more
No less
than my heart needs
.
At days end
I let them slip
these cares I cast
at caring feet
.
I sink into
a simple psalm
and let its words
be my heart's balm
.
Over and over
as the tides
There in peace
I can reside
.
The world again
with its ways
assailed me through
and left me raw
.
I return
to this healing place
and on this cloud
of unknowing wait
.
If I turn from
all this noise
and draw into
the scary silence
.
There I find
a loving voice
beyond my own
self-condemning one
.
Weary mind
and restless soul
Now be still
and be known
.
Here the well
is vast
Drink deep
And truly
you at last
can sleep
.
On the morrow
Words shall come
Write them down
Every one
.
This my secret
and my own source
keeps me whole
and on course
.
This my ever
and present love
The true
and everlasting God
.
Some may scoff
as many do
But they haven't this peace
through and through
.
I hope indeed
for all who read
to be able to enter
this place like me
