"Max! We now about Haysley...........why? Why would you leave her? I'm sorry but how can I trust you that you won't leave me?" Avani crosses her arms while standing in front of me. I knew this day would come sooner or later, but why no. "You can't, don't worry......I wouldn't trust me either." I mumble as i cover my face with my arms. "Maybe I should just disappear from the world...." I mumble again. Avani stands in front of me and pats my head. "Max, I'll be here. Just promise you won't leave," Avani said with the most calming voice ever. Our pinkies almost interlock but I'm interrupted by a thought.........or memory.......
"Haysley, let's promise not to leave each other, even if we move, promise we won't forget each other." "I Haysley Ana Smith promise never to forget Max Nyx Beer, even if we move, I will always remember Max Nyx Beer," our pinkies interlocking with each other sealed the deal.
I jump back and try to hold back my tears. "Avani, it hurts.........I can make the promise but it hurts, I left Haysley when she needed me." I cry into my knees causing Avani to comfort me. "Max, that was in the past. Try focusing on the future and the bright side of things." She patted my back and got up. She ever so calmly walked out of my room and closed the door. I smile and wipe my tears, "Maybe I shouldn't disappear. No, not yet."
I whisper to myself and serenely walk to my bathroom. I look at myself before stripping my clothes off and showering. "Today's going to be a long day...." After showering, I change into something comfy. "You need to let go," A soft voice spoke. I turn my head to meet a familiar set of eyes. "Madison, you can't just barge into my room you know," I said while brushing my damp hair. "Look, you left Haylsey. Just ignore it, it'll bring down your spirit. We can't have you end up like mom.""I-I can't Madison. It's like it's biting at me every second. Please tell Max I'll be leaving. I love you girls so much, but I can't stay." And with that Max's mother left without hesitation.
"MAX! MAX! IT'S ABOUT MOM!" Madison broke down in front of her younger sibling. You could hear her pain in every sob. "M-MOM WAS IN AN ACCIDENT MAX!" She yelled as she didn't want to feel what she was experiencing. "Madison-" The youngest tried comforting the girl but failed as Madison swatted her hand away. She ran to her room and slammed as if it was her fault for the incident.
"Max?" Madison waves her hand in front of me causing me to flinch. "Sorry......what were you saying?" I said with a sigh. Madison hugs me tight and says, "Max, you'll get through this. I promise. Please let me know when you need someone." And with that, Madison left. I grabbed a bag and started putting stuff like an extra pair of clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses,a swimsuit. I grab my charger and shoes. I grab my car keys and start making my way to my car. 'Don't, you'll regret it,' I finally turn back and walk to my room. I watch Netflix for. a while but finally get up after an hour or so. Suddenly I hear a knock on my door. "Max! The guys and I are going to the carnival, you wanna come?" Avani spoke with the gentle voice of her's. "Uhhh yeah, just let me get changed." I stumble off my bed and grab something to wear.
I grab my phone and wait outside for Avani. As soon as everyone gets here, we go on our way to the carnival. "Soo, what made you say yes?" Avani lays her head on my lap as she spoke. "What do you mean?" I giggle. "Well, your usually unsocial now and you stay in your room for most of the time." Avani smirks. "Well, I actually want to hang out with you guys since I have been feeling lonely inside," I laugh. "Well, you chose the right people." Jaden says as he pulls me into a hug. "Thanks J," I hug him back and look out the window. Anthony parks as close as possible to the entrance which makes it easier for me cause I don't enjoy long walks. The carnival was full of teenagers and kids. I noticed a familiar face and a girl. Payton and Bex. I shrug it off and walk to the ticket stand with the rest of the group. Avani and I immediately run for the bumper cars. "Yo! Loser pays for lunch!" Avani yells from the other side of the rink. "Bet!" I yell in response. After what seemed like hours, I bumped into Avani 9 times, and Avani bumped into me like 14 times. "Ha! You're buying lunch!" She sticks her tongue out at me but I just laugh. "You're such a child." I giggle. "Where to next wifey?" She says with the purest smile. "Haven't heard Wifey in a while, why don't we go to the scrambler?" I say as I point to one of my favorite rides. "YES LET'S GO!" Avani says while tugging at my arm. I laugh at how childish Avani is. We get on one of the carts and wait for the guys to yell clear.
As the ride starts getting faster, Avani starts laughing and so do I. The breeze brushing through my hair made it hard to not enjoy. I hug Avani and thank her. "I miss this, we all mess around and have fun. It was the best. Thanks for inviting me," I smile. Avani smiles back and flicks my forehead. "Bruh, as if I'm not going to invite you,". I smile even more and Avani returns the smile. We all get hungry so we stop at a cafe nearby. Avani a I order for the whole group and make our way back to the table. I sit across from Anthony but we just start messing around. "Hey dipshit, what are the odds you go out with me?" Anthony says overly confident. "Ok bet," "3, 2, 1.....2!" We say in sync causing me to blush and laugh. "Hey! The rules are rules," Anthony says with a smirk. "Fine," I say and cover my red face. "Yes!" He hugs me and kisses my cheek. "I swear you will not regret it," he says with the cutest smile. After lunch we drive home and watch Netflix until 12 AM. 'You've changed Max........you've changed'
