My breathing is fast. But I can't give up. I just can't give up. Run. Run!

I am running!

Just keep going.

Where?!

Ugh! I am hurt!

I know.

You promised me!

Ring!!! Ring!!!

"Jessica! When are you planning to wake up? "

"I am....... I am coming mom", I said sheepishly. Then I stopped my movement for a brief second, feeling the warmth of my bed. Then I got up.

Walking down the stairs I heard Joshua, my little five year old brother making the sound similar to of an engine, driving his little toy car in the air. I smiled.

"What is it? The flying car from Harry Potter", I commented, pointing to his own flying car.

Till the time I had walked inside the kitchen, he had already raced there right behind me.

" Jess! Mom said, we can go to the ice cream shop today after you come from school, will you take me, pwease", he said while spreading his hands for me.

Well the request was too cute to decline."Sure bud", I said while pulling him up and then onto the chair. He was too small to climb it up by himself yet.

"Where's dad?", I asked my mom, still I already had an idea of where he was.

"Where he is always, in the garage", she answered, her back to me. Wonder what's she's cooking or baking, well we'll see.

And garage. Just where I thought he would be.

" Where you going? What about breakfast?", my mom asked me finally looking at me.

" Yeah I'll have it, just a bit later",I told her, while going out of the kitchen, then I remembered something, I turned back, took two coffee mugs, made some coffee.

My mom looked at me.

"I guess he'll need it",I told her, she smiled, returning to whatever she was doing, as I went outside, to the garage.

" Hey dad!, whatchaya doin?", I asked as I went inside the garage.

"Huh...I was just changing the tyres".

"Why so?", I asked while handing him one of the coffee mugs.

"I don't know, just thought the roads will be slippery and so it can be dangerous, also the engine was making weird sounds, but now it's all good", he finished and gave me a small smile. I was listening to him while sipping from my mug.

Ah he was a typical type of father, like you know those who always appeared strong and less-emmotional. I remembered when I was small, I had asked him that would he cry if grandma died and he'd replied me with, "I am a man", I was really dumbfounded after hearing his reply.

But somehow everyone knows that he love his family dearly.

Well I soon have to leave if I had to reach school on time. So I took a long sip, finishing all the contents in one go.

"Dad I really should get going", I told him, moving out of the garage.

"Have a good day princess! ", I heard him say.

"Mom I'm leaving!"

"But you didn't have breakfast!"

"Maybe tomorrow!"

"You said the same thing yesterday!"

"I promise I will tomorrow!"

She signed, but said nevertheless,"Ohkay just be careful!"

"Yes mom!"

"Bye jess!", Joshua shouted with his stuffed mouth.

"Bye Josh!"

I opened the front door and stepped out. The sun was shining brightly, well that was a good sign I guess.

........................................................................

"Hey Jessica", Ruby one of my casual friend, asked me.

"Hey Ru", I replied.

"Hey Jess", this time it was Max, one of my another casual friend.

"Hey Max"

We were early, the teacher hadn't come yet. We had to wear our school uniform every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, rest Wednesday and Friday, we could wear anything casual. Today it was Friday so I didn't have to change before taking Josh for ice cream. Good.

"So I was thinking it's been a loooonnnnggg time since we all had gone out, so how about we go somewhere after school? ", Kristen, another friend asked us.

"Ya! Let's go", Ruby agreed, clapping her hands once excitedly.

"Ah I don't think I can, I have promised Josh I'll take him for ice cream after school today", I said, instantly ruining the two girls mood. I felt sorry.

"Ya well, the weather's not good anyway",Max said looking outside the window.

"The weather's not good?", I asked looking outside the window along the two girls.

Max was right the weather was now cloudy, no surprise anyway the weather is weird a lot lately now.

"Ugh! Looks like we can't have any fun today then", Kristen exclaimed. Just then the teacher came and we all returned to our seats.

It was a boring day, it sure was, and now I was really looking forward to ice cream with Josh.

Just as I parked the car in front of my house, I called for Josh.

"Hey, come on Josh, ice cream time!, I shouted, in less than a minute I saw him coming outside the house, smiling and full of life.

I came outside the car for him, opened his side of the car for him and helped him climb up. After securing the seat belt, I closed the door.

And without any delay we were off to the ice cream shop.

"Come on fast! I can't wait to eat my ice cream", Josh told me slapping his hands on his lap".

"Relax buddy! I am sure your ice cream is waiting for you more than you are waiting for it!".

" Yay really? "

"Yup! ", I told him, then looked at him and smiled.

But he didn't looked at me, instead his eyes were fixed on something on the road, as he said ever so quietly, "Jess, look, there's someone".

As soon as the words left his mouth I turned my head back to the road to see what he was talking about. My eyes went wide as I saw a human figure, but before I could react to it, a light emerged from the figure, I was terrified, and Josh was screaming.

"Mommy!, Jess! I'm scared, I want to go home!".

I remembered Josh screaming the same thing again and again. I remembered that I had clutched the stearing wheel really tightly that my knuckles had gone white. And I remembered hearing a voice which was neither mine nor Josh's.

Until the light blinded me and everything went blank.
