I couldn't give these people what they wanted. I couldn't. If I was going to die, I was going to die in pride. That sounds cheesy doesn't it? Oh well. The Australian guy, who's name is Klide, took me into a big dark room. Klide flicked on the lights. We were in a basement. We must still be on Cottonwood. What made me come here in the first place? Stupidity, right. Klide walked over to me and sat down in a metal chair a few feet away. He stared at me for what seemed like ages before he said anything.

"Your a Fate Tempter arn't you?"

Fate Tempter? What is it with people calling me that? Was being a Fate Tempter a bad thing? Is there a purpose to it? Whatever. All I know is its super confusing.

"I'm giving you one last chance to live." Klide informed me.

What is it with these guys and trying to be nice? They were gonna kill me for Pete's sake! I'm not special. Unless you count a Fate Tempter as special. Which i don't.

I stuck my nose up.

"As you wish." he said reaching for a gun in his coat pocket.

At that point I began to panic. I was really going to die? Now? Than it hit me. No more college. No more friends. No getting married and having kids. No getting old and watching my grandkids play in the yard. I was going to die young. Murdered. A single tear ran down my cheek. Klide's finger pushed on the trigger. I herd a crash, and a gun shot, but felt nothing. Brice.

He busted one of the small windows that I didn't even knew existed. The gun was on the floor and there was a hole in the wall just to the left of my head. Then I turned to the right. Brice and Klide were tumbling around on the floor, both trying to win the fight. I tried to get up and help, but my arms were tied. Crap.

Brice pinned Klide down with one arm across his chest. He mumbled something that I didn't catch and hit Klide on the temple. He slumped over, unconscious. Brice walked over to me and untied the bindings without saying a word.

"We have to leave. Now." he said.

We had no trouble getting out of the house. Brice had his car parked out front. We got in and he drove of. It was dark, so I had no idea where we were going.

"How long was I gone?"

"A couple days."

I nodded.

"Why did you come? You said you wouldn't care if I died."

His knuckles turned white on the steering wheel. "I lied."

"Oh." Amazing answer, I know.

"We're here." he announced.

The airport. Why were we at the airport? I couldn't go anywhere! I just stared college. You can't just pack up and leave whenever you want to. I didn't even have any dang clothes! And I didn't have the money to go buy all new ones. Heck, I can't even afford one plane ticket. This guy was really crazy if he thought I was going anywhere. I opened my mouth to speak.

"Don't worry. Your clothes are here, and I called the college. They said its fine." he informed me.

He's a stalker. He knows what dorm I have and where I go to college! Call me crazy, but that's weird. Like psycho weird.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Um, I don't know. Switzerland? Jamaica, maybe?" He didn't know. The dude didn't know where he was taking me. And he expected me to go. No way.

"Thanks, but no thanks. Take me home. Now." I demanded, opening the car door.

"No way. Risk you being killed. . .again? No way on Earth. That was one of the biggest mistakes of my life and it will never ever happen again. We need to go some where they can't find you. . ." he explained.

"And how do you expect me to pay for the ticket? Hm?" I retorted.

"Don't worry. I happen to be extremely rich." he smirked.

Oh great. I'm screwed.

"Jamaica." I said.

"What?"

"Lets go to Jami ca! Derp."

"Oh. Right lets go."

I rolled my eyes and followed him inside the airport. We looked at the flight list. Jamica was gate D12. Right down the hall. We had to wait for 2 hours though before they called the standby people. Me and Brice walked up. I saw him slip the lady some cash and we walked on board.

"How much?"

He shrugged. "A couple thousand."

My jaw dropped. He threw his arm around me. "Relax! Didn't I say I was extremely rich?"

"Yeah! But I thought that meant rich for the average 18 year old! Not having a couple thousand dollars to spare."

He just chuckled and threw our bags into the overhead. Then we sat down and waited for take off.

"Do you have any gum?" I asked Brice when the pilot said we were preparing for lift off. He nodded and pulled out a pack of wintergreen gum. I took a piece. "Thanks." I said. He nodded again.

The plane went quickly down the runway. My hand gripped the seat tightly. Not as tight as Brice's though. His knuckles were white. "You don't like planes much do you?" I asked over the roar of the engine. He shook his head.

"You may now used approved electronic devices." said a voice over the intercom.

Brice sighed in relief and pulled out his iPhone along with some headphones. I did the same. I was listening to Katy Perry's Teenage Dream when the drink lady pulled up with her cart.

"What would you like to drink dears?" she asked in an obviously phony female voice. And I'm pretty sure that grey hair was a wig. Okay, maybe not a lady. Brice had the same thought. He eyed me suspiciously. I nodded.

"Nothing, thanks." I smiled and nodded.

Brice had the same thought. "Same." he smiled and nodded.

"You know its on the house, right? I insist you must have something to drink!" she pressed.

"No really! I'm not thirsty. Please go away." I almost yelled.

The lady stuck her nose up and tromped away leaving her cart behind.

"Um, she/he is one of them isn't he?" I asked

"Sadly, yes. That means as soon as we get of this plane we've got to just go all the way across the island so they can't find us. We'll have to switch cars constantly." He spoke really fast and quite. So far, being an adult freaking sucked.

Our plane landed at 10 pm. We got into a cab at the airport to the nearest city. Then got another cab to the county. We were in a total of ten cabs before we reached the beach on the other side of Jamaica. There we rented a beach house. It was literally right on the beach. It was freaking amazing. I knew right away I was gonna love it here.

I was leaning over the railing of the porch watching the sunset when Brice came up behind me. I smiled at him, but stayed where I was. He put his arm around my waist and kissed my neck.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" he asked.

"Yeah it is."

And at that moment, everything was perfect.
