I woke up in a hospital bed. There were oxygen tubes in my nose and an IV in my arm.All I could remember was flames. What had happened? I was suddenly aware of someone sitting by my bedside, staring at the monitor. He looked over at me when he saw my heart rate pick up.

"Hey." he smiled sorrowfully.

"What happened?" I grumbled.

"They're was a fire. You were badly burned. Couldn't breath. . ." he paused and looked away for a second.

"What?" I was really confused. Darn my loss of memory.

"You said you loved me." Then it all came back. The fire. Me being strapped down and someone lifting me up. Brice telling me he loved me. Being put on a hospital bed and saying I loved him too. Then it hit me.

"Wheres-wheres the um" I broke off and started coughing. I couldn't stop. Was I gonna start coughing up blood? Oh my God.

"Shh. Shh. Its okay. Your okay. They're gone. They wont bother us anymore." Brice soothed, stroking my hair.

He was really sweet. I really did love him. And I really did try to stop coughing. I knew it caused him pain. But I couldn't. Why wouldn't I stop coughing? It didn't worry just me though. Brice buzzed for the nurse after about two minutes through my coughing fit.

The nurse came running in a few seconds later. Either they had really good service here, or my condition was really bad. My guess is my condition was really bad. The Caribbean isn't exactly know for its health care.

They lady started talking in Spanish to Brice. I couldn't really hear what she was saying beyond my coughing though. God, it hurts so bad!

Brice nodded and walked out of the room. Since when did he speak Spanish? The nurse sat down by my bedside, taking Brice's place and gave me some sort of pill. I tried to swallow it, but i couldn't with all the coughing. The nurse frowned and stabbed a needle into my arm. Oh God. Not this again. Whatever was in that needle cause me to black out. Talk about déjà vu.

I woke up feeling infinitely  better. Brice was holding my hand looking at his feet.

"Hey." I smiled.

"Hey." he whispered, unsmiling.

"The doctor said you could leave in a week." one of the nurses said. When did she get here? I raised my eyebrow at her. "You need time to get all your burns healed. What happened anyway?" she continued.

"Uh." me and Brice said at the same time. She seemed to understand. She nodded and said nothing else. Brice smiled sympathetically and stroked my hair. I flinched. He jerked his hand back looking worried.

"Its fine. It doesn't hurt that much." I shrugged, and cringed because the shrugging hurt. Darn these stupid burns. I wish I had never gone to Cottonwood. I was I never got captured. I also wish I never met Brice so he wouldn't be in so much pain right now. I closed my eyes and sighed. Why did my life have to suck so freaking much? Why did I have to cause the people I love pain. Most of all why did I have to be a freaking Fate Tempter and what the heck was the purpose of one? Someone needs to explain these things. Like right now.

I had another dream that night.

A faceless angel came down from the heavens and touched my face. Its hand were surprisingly cold. I cringed at the coldness, but pressed my face into its hand. The angel took my wrist in it other hand. It started flying upward. Was I dying? No. He let me go. I feel through the clouds, watching Klide stare down at me, floating in the sky, smirking as a feel.

I woke up to the sound of someone screaming. I kept my eyes closed. I herd people rushing in. Whats going on? The screaming continued

"Jace? Jace!" Brice yelled frantically.

That's when I realized I was the one screaming. I couldn't open my eyes. I couldn't stop screaming. Everything was black, and the dream was gone. I was in one of those stages in between being awake and sleep. I could hear everything. But I wasn't awake. I couldn't hear people shuffling around frantically trying to get me to wake up. I wouldn't. I couldn't. What was happening to me?
