A'Maya POV
I woke up to loud whispers coming from the kitchen, downstairs. It took me a moment to remember why I was even in this house. It took me even longer to remember what I had done. The only true dirt I had on him, I had used up, and I hadn't even been here a whole day, only 3.8 hours, and I had already used up that one thing. His name. Not Sammy, Sam, or even Samuel. No, his real name, his birth name, his crime name, Zachariah. I had already told him I knew who he was, and what he did, and then when I got the chance to kill him, when I could have left today with my job complete, I couldn't do, I couldn't kill him, I couldn't even harm his shoulder, my knife hit centimeters next to it, centimeters, I never miss. And to make it even worse, he knew I couldn't kill him, he hadn't even brought a weapon with him. I hadn't seen him for three years, I should be over my childhood friend, my childhood crush, my childhood life, but he unlocked that window, and he sat with his on the ledge facing me, talking to me as if he knew who I was, as if I was the same little naive girl as if I would still climb through that window and follow him to the ends of the earth, and maybe I still would.
"No" I heard a loud voice from the kitchen say, it seemed they were trying to keep at a whisper. I had forgotten why I had woken up. I summoned my beautiful sliver knife, I wear a black ring on my thumb that calls the knife into my hands, it flies elegantly through the room and I grab it absentmindedly from the air. I couldn't tell what was being said, I needed to get downstairs, without being seen.
"Shut up, do you want to wake her?" It sounded like Lorenzo, not maybe people here had such thick Italian accents, and he didn't seem very pleased. Who was he talking to? I had to be the girl they didn't want to wake up, for I was the only female that lived in this house. Why didn't they want me to wake up then?
"Why didn't you tell me she was coming back? I would have liked to be prepared!" The mystery man asked. He acted as if he had known Lorenzo a while. I believe it was the same guy, he had to same deep voice, as the person who shouted "no" earlier.
"How do you presume I tell you? You told me to keep her safe, I have kept her safe. You told me to make sure no one new came to this house, so no one new has come to this house. Why do you think all of those cars were coming? No one new came, that's what you said! She isn't new. I thought you would be smart enough to figure this out! She is back, and you won't like her reasoning!" A very anger Lorenzo stated, as I started to silently slide down the stairs. "Shit, she's up, go out the back, I'll keep her company" Who was here? Why did they need to leave? Why was he told to keep me safe? And why was Lorenzo so upset? I heard the backdoor slide open, and not a moment later it slides closed again.
"Binti, why are you up?" Lorenzo asked me, appearing at the bottom of the stairs. He acted as if nothing had just happened, as if he wasn't just yelling at some mysterious man, as if he wasn't talking about me.
"I heard you up" I decided to say, though it came out as more of a whisper. I don't know how you're supposed answer such a question when he acts as if nothing had just happened at all. Not to mention the look in his eyes, as if daring me to ask, as if he was telling me I wouldn't get an honest answer, without even saying a word.
"Come on, let's finish unpacking your room, I'm sure you would like to put all those weapons downstairs, maybe shot a little too." He was acting like nothing happened. That wasn't like Lorenzo, what was going on? I can't say the idea of Lorenzo being a traitor didn't cross my mind, but he's Lorenzo, he wouldn't do that to me. He's like my father. I love him.
"Alright, let's go"

Zachariah POV
I slide out the back, closing the door behind me moments later. I was going to the woods. Levi and Aegean would be meeting me there, in about a half hour. I hadn't seen them in a week maybe two, the last time they were here, cars were just starting to come to that house, now she showed up, but before I could tell them about her arrival, I would need to find out how the exchange went in London.
I remember walking through these woods with her, she would sneak out every night with me, and every night there would be some sort of new contraption on the window, trying to keep her in, but they never worked, and she would always climb down the tree and follow me to these woods. I remember the day she came back, the last time I thought she would ever come back, It was fall, September second, she climbed down the tree, laughing that they had put lasers in the window this time. I was told to never take her there, but I did anyway, I took her through the woods till we got to the end, where there was, as she put it, "the most beautiful house".
I finally reached the house behind the woods, which abruptly stopped my trip down memory lane.
"Is it true?" I heard Levi ask as soon as I walked in.
I already knew what they were asking but I asked anyway. "Is what true?"
"Is she back?" Aegean said, looking directly at me.
I sighed, "yes."
