Prologue

I looked in the mirror. I looked at the girl I've become. Who is she? I don't know. It's crazy how many thoughts you can have at one minute, and how no matter how hard you try, you'll never be able to explain them.

I looked in the mirror. My celery colored eyes were completely empty. They held no life, no happiness. I remember once when my grandma died, my grandpa's eyes held the same emptiness. I remember how with just one look at those eyes, I cried inside; Because these eyes are the eyes of someone who has given up, someone who may be alive physically, but dead mentally.

I looked into the mirror. I saw my lips that were in a straight line, the breath taking smile that used to drive boys crazy was gone, never to return.

I looked into the mirror. I tried to remember the happy times, but could not. Happiness now seems like a foreign language, I wouldn't understand it no matter how hard I tried, I may get glimpses of what it means, but will never understand it completely.

My name is Taylor smith, and this is my story.
