CHAPTER 1

Based off of a true story, names have been changed and some events in this story did not really happen.

8 months earlier.

I smiled at Jeremy, my breath taking smile that made the boys go crazy.

"Say it again." He said, his voice like honey making my knees go weak.

I walked over to where he was casually leaning against the door of the girls' locker room and crushed my body so it fit perfectly with his.

I looked up with my celery green eyes to his golden ones. "I-" I said, kissing his cheek "love-" I kissed the bridge of his nose "you." I said in a whisper, finally kissing his plump lips.

I wanted to give him just a little kiss, the sweet ones we used to share when we first started dating just enough to leave him wanting more.

Jeremy, however, had a different idea.  He turned so I was up against the wall, and kissed me roughly, almost forceful as if he was trying to convince himself I really did love him.

Jeremy has been a good kisser since day one. Before we got together, he was by definition a player. He slept around to no avail, and then we met. He says it was love at first sight, but he only gotten the balls to say the magical words one week ago and ever since we can't stop hearing each other say it or saying it to each other.

"Achem." Someone rudely cleared their throat from behind me, interrupting me and Jeremy's little make out session.

I turned around to see my best friend Chloe. We've been best friends ever since 7th grade. I know Chloe better then I know myself, so I know when she's mad. Like right now.

"Claudia." Jeremy said coldly. I could feel his muscles tense.

"Jeremiah" Chloe said, mirroring his voice.

Chloe hates it when people call her Claudia, just like Jeremy hates it when people call him Jeremiah. About a month ago, Chloe and Jeremy started being very hostile towards each other. When I asked them why, Chloe says she hasn't liked him from the start, and that he's just going to break my heart. Jeremy says that he thinks she's a crazy bitch, which is kind of true.

"You guys, stop. Ellie are you okay?" I noticed for the first time that Ellie was wear really short shorts, which was a weird thing to wear since it was winter.

"I would be okay if I didn't have to watch you guys make out 24/7." She shot Jeremy a look, but I couldn't see what look he gave her back because my back was to him.

"It's not like we want you to watch us make out. In fact it's pretty freaking creepy that you do, go find a hobby or something." Jeremy said. Chloe ignored his comment, and I was extremely great full that she did. The last thing I needed was them to start a full out fight.

"Sorry." I said apologizing for both Jeremy and myself. I looked at her shorts again, envying her long tan legs.  I felt like Jeremy was checking out her legs, but that was ridiculous seeing as they hate each other.

"Chlo, why are you still wearing those shorts? Where are your jeans?"

She looked down at her legs with a confused expression.

"Oh, I guess I forgot to change after gym, I'll go put my jeans back on, but would you mind heating up the car for me? It's really cold." She asked.

I thought it was weird that she forgot to change, Chloe rarely forgets anything, but I let it go.

"Yeah, of course I will." I said, catching the keys she threw at me. I looked at Jeremy for the first time since Chloe arrived, he had a pained expression on his face, but once he saw me looking he replaced it with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. It made me sad that just Chloe's presence pained him.

"You want to walk me to the car Jer?" I asked sweetly.

That pained expression crossed his face again; and he was quiet for a couple of seconds.

"Um, nah babe. I have to go get help with my English essay Mr. Bailey's assignments are a pain in the ass." He said it like it was wrong to get help on an essay.

I laughed and gave him my breath taking smile.

"Don't worry about it, you go get help on the essay and then maybe you could come over and we could have a little study session for that math test on Monday?" By study I meant make out, but he knew that.

"Of course." He said his voice almost back to normal.

"Oh, I almost forgot! Could you give Mr. Bailey my dad's new number? I was supposed to give it to him today but I totally forgot." Taking out a pen and started to write down my dad's number on a piece of paper, handing it to Jeremy when I was done.

I know it sounds weird that I'm giving my English teacher my dad's number, but it's not really. Todd (Mr. Bailey) and my dad were really good friends in high school, but lost touch when they went to different collages. When Mr. Bailey took attendance on the first day of school he recognized my last name and asked if I knew who Tony Smith was. When I said he was my father, Mr. Bailey freaked. I gave him my dad's number and they have since rekindled their old friendship again. My dad even flew out here from Seattle to see Todd. They act like their in high school, which is ironic since one of them is a high school teacher. My dad just got a new phone, so it was my duty to give his new number to Todd.

"Yeah, sure." Jer said.

"Okay" I said giving him my sexy smile, giving him a sweet kiss to leave him wanting more.

I looked up to see his golden eyes that looked a little off, he was acting weird today.

"I love you Jer, so much." I said with as much honesty that I could muster. Hoping to make whatever was wrong with him right.

But it looked like did the complete opposite and he looked even sadder.

"I know." Was all he said as I turned to walk to Chloe's car only to run into Chloe.

"Chloe, did you change already?" I looked down at her shorts to find the answer.

"Um, I'm going right now." She said. She looked pissed, but very very sad.

Before I could ask her what was wrong, she turned to go into the girl's locker room.

I looked behind me to see if Jer was still there, but he wasn't so I just walked to Ellie's car and turned on the heat as high as it could go.
