"Niya and Mimi get up." Our mom tapped on us as we rubbed our eyes.

"Mmm?" I said rubbing my eyes so I can focus.

"Kaymee, wake up girl." I said while shaking her.

"I'm up, damn." Kaymee said throwing the covers off her body.

"I need to talk to y'all." Our mom said sitting on the foot of my bed with a serious look on her face.

I began to feel worried, we've never seen her look like this.

"What's wrong mama?" Kaymee asked her making mom just bust out crying. "Mama it's okay, everything gone be just fine. " I said as I wrapped my arms around her and let her cry on my shoulders.

"No, it's not okay." Our mom said as she pulled out a pink folded sheet of paper out her pocket and gave it to us.

"What's this?" I asked as I grabbed the sheet of paper from her and unfolded it revealing something I'd thought I'd never see.

"Mama this can't be real." I said as started to tear up. It was my worse nightmare, never in a million years did I think that we'd get kicked out the house.

"What's going on?" Kaymee asked me while taking the paper out my hands.

"We got kicked out the house Kaymee!" My tears were just starting to fall.

"So we're homeless?" Kaymee cried out.

"No, we're not homeless don't ever say that, we might not have a big fancy house anymore but we have each other. Remember that." Our mom said.

"So, where are we going to go?" I asked making Kaymee agree and ask the same thing.

"The projects, that's the only place we can afford right now." Our mom said.

12:45 pm

We got finish packing up all our stuff, so we can move out. As our dad put all our stuff in the truck, I said my last goodbyes to the house that I made most of my memories in.

When we finally made to our new neighborhood, we seen a lot of kids playing outside with no shoes on and teens walking around with little clothes on with babies on their hips while the adults sitting on their porches smoking and drinking.

"I like it here already, it's different." I said looking out the window.

"Girl you trippin, I already miss Beverly Hills." Kaymee said putting her clothes in the closet.

"I miss Beverly Hills too, but I like how different it is here. It's just the change we needed." I told her while sitting on her bed.

"You need to be unpacking instead of sitting in my bed talking about you like the projects." Kaymee said to me as I started laughing then got up off her bed and walked to my room across the hall.

My room wasn't big at all, my bed took up most of the room and I only had room to put two of my dressers in here. I had my tv on top of my tall dresser and my mirror on the big dresser.

I put all my stuff up as I got dressed for today because our dad wanted to sign us in school. We will start our official day of school tomorrow.

I looked in my small closet looking for something I can wear to get signed in this new school.

"Ugh this boring." I said to myself looking through my closet
