"Believe you can and you're halfway there"

Emillia wasn't the average student.

She had dyslexia which constantly left her feel stupid, She was short, She didn't have big boobs or a big butt, her hair wasn't gorgeous and she had a different taste in music than all the other girls in her classes.

"Emillia please read page 5 through 6"

She froze, all eyes where on her.

She stared down at the book with pages, None of the words made sense to her.

"Any minute" The teacher said. She hated being called out to read something, Everyone would laugh and tease her because she couldn't read.

The teacher sighed and chose another student to read the page, Emillia put her head down on her desk. She couldn't do it, It was impossible.

After class Emillia rushed out trying to avoid anyone.

"Wait" A voice called behind her. She ignored it, It was probably nothing anyway.

"why are you ignoring me?" The voice asked. It was Luke Hemmings, the boy Emillia had the biggest crush on. He was tall blonde and gorgeous. Basically everything a girl wanted in a guy.

"Are you-wait sorry no-um-do you have- no wait that's-uh-rude" He stuttered.

"Am I what?" Emillia asked.

Luke took a deep breath "Dyslexic?" He asked. Emillia said nothing, She didn't really like people knowing.

"I have to go" She said walking away. Luke grabbed her arm stopping her from moving.

"Look, sorry if i'm being rude or anything or weird....It's hard talking to pretty girls" He said.

Emillia's face turned bright red pretty? he thinks i'm pretty? She thought.

"I wanted to see if you'd like me to...um...help you? With reading" He said smiling.

"Nobody can help me" she said.

"That's not true, c'mon over to my house, I can help" He said.

"I have to.....fine" She said though she knew it was impossible for her to learn to read.

They walked together to his house in silence, He smiled as he entered his house. "This is my house, and this-" He said dragging her to his room "-is my cave" he said laughing lightly.

"Sit down anywhere" He said digging through a big bucket of books. Emillia sat down on his bed and waited for his attempt to help her.

"Ah here it is" He said holding up a torn up book, many of the pages where sticking out.

"This is a quote book, my grandfather gave it to me" He handed the book to her "You see, I am also dyslexic, This book helped inspire me to keep pushing myself and to get better. It may sound cheesy, but it helped a lot."

Emillia flipped through the pages of quotes, Each one with a deep meaning for a billion people. Some quotes where famous and some where quotes Luke had heard from friends and family.

"You can borrow it if you'd like" He said with a smile.

"No this is your family book" she said handing it back.

"No, It's alright, borrow it for as long as you want, As long as it helps you" He said.

Emillia smiled lightly, Nobody really tried to help her with this, Her parents where always so busy working and her usual classmates didn't even notice her. It was  nice having someone help you.

"Thank you Luke"
