*Amelie's PoV
"Gabriel, are you sure your parents won't mind? I- I- I don't want to bother you guys..." I said nervously before his mom picked us up.
"Gabe, who's this?" His mom asked. "Mom, this is my friend, Amelie. She doesn't have anywhere to stay, her family is in France. Can she stay with us?" Gabe replied.
"Of course! Hello Amelie! I'm Maria, Gabe's mom."
"Hi, Mrs. Reyes," I said, looking into Gabe's eyes, wishing I could kiss him.
"So, where are you from?" she asked.
"Paris. My family on my father's side owns a cheateu, and on my mother's side, we just live in a small apartment. My sister lives in her dance academy, and I live here at the academy until I go back home..."
"Your sister has a dance academy?" Mrs. Reyes asked.
"Oui. She's the assistant director of the academy, and I used to go to that academy, before I came to America for better academic opportunities."
"Gabe, don't forget to do your chores once we get home. I can help Amelie unpack and get settled in," Mrs. Reyes said.
"Okay mama."

"Gabriel! Welcome back! Oh hey, you brought a girl with you," His father said.
"Hey hey Gabriel! Welcome back baby bro! What's up? Yo who's this, your girlfriend?" Gabe's older brother asked.
"JUAN! Be nice to Gabe's friend! You too, Angel!" Mrs. Reyes shouted.
"Cállate Juan. Where's your girlfriend? OH wait, you don't have one, I forgot, your last one dumped you," Gabe snapped back, as I was still looking into his eyes, having a look of desire.
"GABE!" A little girl exclaimed as she ran up to Gabe and gave him a hug.
"Hey Elena! How are you?"
"Good. Who's this? You brought a girl home?" Elena said.
"Yeah, she doesn't have anywhere to stay for the break. Dad, Elena, Juan, meet my friend Amelie," Gabe introduced. I smiled slightly and said hi to them, trying not to notice Juan staring at me. Mrs. Reyes clapped her hands twice before saying, "Gabriel! Go do your chores! Elena, go clean up your room! There's dolls everywhere! Juan, can you get out of the guest room and back to your old room? Amelie needs the guest room. Go back to your old one."
"It's fine. He can keep the room. I'll just sleep on the floor or something," I responded.
"No no no, mi hija, you're getting a bed. There's no way I'm letting one of Gabriel's friends sleep on the floor. I'll show you the guest room. JUAN! GET OUT OF THE GUEST ROOM AND TAKE YOUR VIDEO GAMES WITH YOU!" Mrs. Reyes said, leading me upstairs and to a room. "I know it's not much, but I hope you like it," she said, opening the door to a reasonably big but plain room with a full bed in the middle of the room, a dresser on the right, and a nightstand on the left. "It's more than enough. Thank you for letting me stay with you and your family, Mrs. Reyes," I said, grateful I had a place to sleep. "Of course, anytime Amelie! If you ever need a place to stay, just tell Gabriel. We'll be glad to let you stay with us for as long as you need," Mrs. Reyes replied, giving me my stuff and gently closed the door behind her. I sighed, happy to be in a loving home, or as close as I was going to get, and with my crush no less. After I was done with unpacking, I changed from my school outfit and into a velvet dress.
