Vortex is a pure bred SeaWing dragonet with an animus "gift" that isn't always convenient. This inconvenience takes the form of fish; whenever he goes near water one will bite his tail. Think of all the ways that this can be annoying as well as the many ways this could be useful.
He fought alongside his fellow SeaWings during the initial SkyWing attack (when they first found the summer palace in book 2), luckily he survived that scrape and was able to battle another day alongside the SandWings in my story.
One of the things I think is funny about this drawing is that Vortex is staring at the fish like "oh not this crap again" and the fish just be like (._.)
