22/8 Rashmoni Street

Chapter 3

"Okay, so let me get this straight. We are going to go Ghost hunting ?"

We were currently in my room, discussing about how in three heavens , we were going to get out of the house without anyone noticing anything.

"Yes, Rahul. Ghost hunting. Why,are you scared?"

"Scared? Pshh, I am not scared of anything Sneha, you know that."

"Cut it out guys!! We don't even know which house is 'haunted', and the both of you are already breathing down each others throats. If we are going to do this, then we need a plan,a proper plan."

"Urjowshi Di is right. We need to be prepared and as for which house, I think that's pretty easy to get, because like that woman mentioned someone named Upasana. You know, while talking."

"Yes! Yes,she did! You're a genius Brish. All we need to figure out now is the address of the house and how to sneak out of the house without anybody catching us. Which by the way is next to impossible. All our parents are like hawks, one wrong move and they will end our lives."

Putting his hand over his heart, Rahul said, " That is so true Sneha, that it literally pains me right in my heart".

"We clearly have to sneak out during the night, cause you know, ghosts come out at night and we will-"

"Sneaking out from this house during the night is impossible. Also all the important puja events are in the evening and  at night this year. We can't miss anything because that will just become too obvious."

"Then do you like have a better idea Sneha, because I am all ears!!"

"Stop fighting!! Rahul, Sneha you people are not opening your mouths until and unless I tell you otherwise. I am the eldest and you will listen to me. Now, first things first, Sneha, go figure out where this place is.  Brishti come up with a plan of how we are getting out of here, and Rahul and I will try to get the necessary things needed for this expedition. Now go. And oh, meet here exactly two hours later."

And with that ultimatum, we all went our different ways to go do the things that we were instructed to do.

Sneha's POV

Okay, this is not so hard. I can definitely figure out the address of this place. I can learn whatever I want to. This is my talent. I can do this!!

But who do I ask?? I will also have to come across as an innocent person just asking about the latest gossip in town. If I ask mom, she will definitely catch me. The other mashis are out of question. They are way too suspicious of everything. What about  Souvik Da?? NO no,  I am so not setting foot into his room. His wife scares me!! I can ask DEV!! That guy always has news. Okay now to find him. Where is he?? Where is he??

There he goes. Gotta catch him.

"Heyy, Dev, what are you doing?"

"Nothing much. I was just playing games on my phone. Why do you ask?"

"No, I just heard Mom and the other mashis talking to a woman about someone's death. And I thought that I should ask you, since you know everything that goes on around here. Tell me na!!"

"Okay fine!! This old woman and her granddaughter that lived in the house situated on 22/8 Rashmoni Street died a few days back. Her granddaughter, Rani, used to go to my school. Really a very unfortunate event. She died while she was playing in the veranda. The roof came down and crushed her. Also, don't tell anyone I told you this, but that house is haunted."

"How do you know its haunted?!"

"People say they can see that little girl's ghost playing in the veranda and laughing. But why are you so interested in this? "

"Oh!! I was just curious about the death. Not at all by the fact that it is haunted!!Why would I-Gotta go, Bye!! Enjoy your game."

Got the address!! Now I just hope everyone else has got what they were told to get!!

Brishti's POV

Why am I the one planning how to sneak out again??!! I have literally never  snuck out anywhere- except for that one time I bunked college, no wait, twice, maybe ,I am the right person to plan our sneaking out!!

First things first I gotta check out the schedule properly.

With that I made my way towards the  mandap. 

There is usually  a Schedule hung up here stating the details. Where is it? Where is it? Ahh, there it is!! But, why oh, whyyy is my mother standing there?! I donot wan to be caught by her. Am gonna come back later, let's first plan a route out of this house.

"Brish, good timing I was about to call you!"

Why can't I for once get what I want!!

"Really, why??"

"Us adults decided that we are going to go pandal hopping on Nabami night. We wanted to ask if you guys wanted to come??"

"Nabami night? Like gone for the entire night??"

"Yes. Do you guys wanna come or not??"

Ohmygodd!! This is exactly what we needed. Thank you, God, I love you!!

"I don't think we can make it. You see we are filming another film and if we want to finish it we will have to work hard all the time because we don't wanna miss the puja festivities, so.."

Please, please, please don't start interrogeting me like a police officer. Just believe my words blindly.

"Every year you guys do this!! NEver once have you people come out of that hole and talked to the other members of the house properly. But, Okay, okay, fine you people can stay behind. But, The elders except for us will be staying behind."

"Ya. Okay. Cool!! When will you guys be leaving?"

"Around 9. After finishing all the work, you know. Now go. I have work."

"Bye!!"

That went down so well. She didn't even ask me twice about that film excuse. And now, We don't even have to use the back route, for sneaking out!!"

Urjowshi's POV

"All that we need is torchlight, four of them and maybe two more as backups. A night vision google, Some candles, A mat, some food, Odomos, can't forget that and what else?? Obviously our phones. Portable wireless chargers!! We cannot forget those. The Ouija Board is already in .And-"

Suddenly there were loud footsteps and Sneha burst through the door. 

"The damn address is 22/8 Rashmoni Street."

"Not so loud, you idiot!! And good job!! Now take a seat or you will die. Did you run all the way back??"

"Kin-da"

"Guyss!!"

"Here comes another one!!"

I gave a him "are-you serious" look and he shut up.

"Guys!! Our parents are going pandal hopping tomorrow after 9. And all the other members are also going except, the elderly people!! We can sneak out then!! Its the perfect oppurtunity!!"

"That's- extremely good. What say Urjowshi Di??"

"That really is. We have also got all the essential stuff packed. Now we just have to wait!"
