As I lay,
On the operating table.
I can hear the doctor say,
She will be unable.
To laugh or talk,
To run or walk.
Smile or blink,
Not even to think.
I lay there,
As they pull the drip out.
I can see you there,
I can hear you shout.
I can hear your pain,
I can see it in your teats.
I just wish I could hold you,
And rid you of your fears.
As I grow tired,
I close my eyes.
I look back on my life,
And all the good times.
I slowly forget,
Trying to remember you.
How when I was down,
You were the one I ran to.
I fly away,
Think about it and see.
You weren't torturing me,
Only setting me free.
