Years passed by in a blur, Lan Zhan counted the days as he waited for his time to reunite with his Wei Ying, many had happened after Wei Ying's death, Sizhui took over as the head of the Gusu Lan Sect as Lan Zhan stepped down from the title soon after Wei Ying's death many believed that it was because of the pain of losing the same husband for the second time or maybe it was his old age that reduced his flexibility but one thing was for sure he was no longer the healthy young man he used to be, the man who was prepared to jump into battle in order to protect his husband, he believed that he would still do so even in old age if his husband was still here.

Today the day Lan Zhan waited for the most came, a Lan disciple was on his way to deliver food to the previous Sect Leader when he heard no reply he decided to enter only to see the elderly man sleeping contentedly, if one was a normal human he would have thought he was just sleeping yet one look at the elderly man he knew the man was no longer in this world as he was no longer breathing, his lips was in a soft smile as though his death was a pleasant one.

No one witnessed Lan Zhan's death and yet he could careless, A-Yuan was no longer the helpless kid that needed him now he could leave knowing that Cloud Recess has a capable leader and A-Yuan has a person he could lean in much like how he could lean on his deceased husband, His death was peaceful and welcomed.

Now with the help of his Wei Ying he crossed the border between the mortal world and the holy world, now alone he walked the path to his second life where he would meet his Wei Ying once more sadly none of them would remember each other, the only thing they'll remember is their love for one another maybe not vividly by memory but by their hearts and bodies.
