Chapter 4

I held the kiss for a couple of seconds before pulling away abruptly. "Y-Yukio?" I stuttered, I watched as his facial expressions turned into shock. Just as he was about to say something Rin appeared asking what was taking us so long. I shook my head and ran to the bus, leaving the twins behind. 
"What was that all about?" I heard Rin say as I hopped on the bus. 

My heart was beating like crazy, I had no idea Yukio felt of me that way. No, it was because of my demon form, he probably was just under some sort of trance. I lowered my gaze as I sat by myself near the back of the bus. I was sitting alone, so I pulled out my headphones from my bag and began listening to some music to distance myself from reality for a second. i had no idea why but my mind kept replaying the kiss, it was almost unbearable. This gave me another reason to keep my distance. 

The ac was flowing throughout the bus and I could feel several eyes on me, I almost regretted coming on this excursion in the first place. The feeling of someone sitting next me snapped me out of my depressed daze, I felt a soft tap on my shoulder. My head snapped to see who it was, just to come face to face with a surprised Shiemi. 
"H-Hey, Y-You just looked so alone! I hope we can become friends." She stuttered, I was surprised at how honest and upfront she was. I gave her a small smile and nodded, "I'm pretty excited for this camp! I've been waiting for it all semester!" She beamed, her positivity sent a wave of warm energy over me and I felt immediately more comfortable with her sitting next to me. 
"I've been the completely opposite actually." I replied, suddenly the whole bus went quiet. My gaze flickered around to see why everyone had stopped talking. Everyone was looking in my direction, with a confused look. I squirmed uncomfortably, knowing I shouldn't habe spoken, everyone was probably intruiged because I hadn't said a word for the whole year so far. 

"Your voice is really nice Shinimi, y-you should talk more!" Shiemi said with a flustered face. I bit my lip and nodded whilst lowering my head. I glanced in Yukio's direction to see him staring at me with a concerned expression. I took a deep breath and forced a smile. 
"Thank you Shiemi but I don't really like talking."
"Well then, since we're friends, you can talk to me right?" She looked hopeful, I nodded, knowing that I probably wouldn't show my demon form to her. So far I had only phased out with boys, so I wouldn't try to seduce Shiemi?

"Shinimi huh...I've heard that name from somewhere-"
"Enough Suguro." Yukio snapped, catching everyone off guard. The bus went silent and Yuki awkwardly slid back down into his chair next to Rin, who began bombarding him with questions. Ryuji made a little 'tsk' noise and turned back around. 
"So what type of Exorcist do you want to be?" Shiemi asked, to break the awkward silence that had fallen between us. 
"I-I don't know...probably a knight." My mind went to the dagger that I had in my bag. 
"Just like Rin! I hope we can fight together someday!" Her enthiusiasm made me smile.  "Y-Your smile's really pretty too!" She blurted out, I chuckled and we carried on chatting amongst ourselves for the rest of the journey. 

When we finally arrived at the campsite we all split up into groups of three, I was put with Shiemi and Izuko as we were all girls. Izuko was particularly cold towards me. "Hey do you wanna put on a bra?" She snapped at me out of nowhere, I wrinked my eyebrows in confusion. Everyone was talking about these bra things but I had never heard of such a thing. 
"What's a bra?" I asked confused. She did a double take, not believing that I had just asked her such a thing. 
"Uh-It's-It's-FOR THEM!" She shouted, pointing at my breasts. After she realised that I truly had no idea what she was talking about, she grumbled something that I couldn't hear and rummaged through her bag. "Look, just put this underneath your vest, its to protect your...things." I blinked a couple of times and then took a deep. 
"The monks never showed me one of these." I mumbled as I took off my vest.

"Girls! We're making the campfire-AHHH!" Renzo had stuck his head inside out tent just as I was taking off my vest to try on the bra thing, I let out a scream and pulled my vest back down quickly. There was the sound of footsteps and suddenly everyone was standing outside our tent. 
"What's going on?!" Rin wheezed, it looked like he had sprinted over to the sound of my scream. 
"RENZO SHIMA!" Izuko shouted and slapped the boy round the face. Shima was now on the ground mumbling something to himself with a wide smile and his eyes were closed. 
"This idiot came and peeped in just as Shinimi was undressing!" Shiemi cried out, the boys that were standing outside suddenly widened their eyes. 

No one knew what to say, but meanwhile this was going on I was trying to understand how I was supposed to put on a bra. "Hey Izuko...How do I put it on?" I said, passing her back the bra she'd thrown at me. She widened her eyes and everyone suddenly had bright red faces. 
"SHINIMI!" She squealed, turning around to face me and closing the tent behind her so that all the boys were left outside where they couldn't see anything. 
"What!? Don't shout at me! I don't know what I'm doing! I give up!" I shouted back at her and got up, reopening the tent to see  the boys still there as if they were statues, I flipped them all off and trudged off into the surrounding forest. 

It was quite comforting to be close to a forest again, it reminded me of when I lived at the temple. Ever since I came to the academy, things have been more or less difficult and I simply wished I could go back to the way things used to be. I took a deep breath and listened to the noise of the creatures around me.
