Marie shoved her keys into the ignition and backed her car out of the parking lot onto Main Street. She drove down the street a few miles then stopped at her small, cottage-like house.
Marie yanked her keys out of the ignition, hopped out of her station wagon, and ran to her front door. As she opened it, her dachshund came out to greet her. But instead of walking inside the house, Marie picked up her dog like a baby.
"Come on, Ellie, we're gonna go on a little trip."
Marie got into the car, still holding Ellie, placed the small dog into her seat belt harness, and started driving.
When they pulled into the parking lot of Cream & Sugar a few minutes later, the commotion still seemed to be going on.
Marie and Ellie got out of the car, and they walked up to the front of the shop together. When they opened the door, Marie hesitated. She didn't like doing this, but Ellie was the only one who could calm them down.
"Okay Ellie, do your thing!"
