*simone's pov*
i woke up this morning feeling all types of emotions, i was hoping this high school was filled with everything i've dreamed of. i was awoken by my pesky alarm clock. i quickly shut if off seeing as it nearly scared me to death.
i sat up and groaned. i heard footsteps approaching my door, followed by a knock. "come in." i said in a raspy voice. my mother then popped her head in. "good morning simone!" she chirped. "hey mom." i said rubbing my eyes standing to make my bed.
"you need a ride to school?" she asked standing in the doorway, arms folded across her chest. "uh, i think chloe is gonna pick me up, i'll text her." i said finishing making my bed. "ok! breakfast is almost done." she said turning on her heel and walking out the door.
i grabbed my phone and checked the time, i had about and hour before leaving so i quickly texted chloe.

i quickly jumped in the shower and did my daily morning routine. i dried my hair and did a little bit of makeup. i checked the mirror thinking 'is this outfit school appropriate?'. i didn't have much time to sit there and think so i went downstairs to eat my breakfast.
"you think this school will be any better?" my mom asked. "yeah, i know it will. chloe is there , she makes my life a lot easier." i said shoving a mouthful of pancakes in my mouth. "lemme guess you wanna take pictures for that 'instagram' of yours?" she said sipping on her coffee.
"yes please." i said standing up and putting my empty dishes in the sink. we went out to the backyard and took some photos. i picked the one i liked best and posted it.

after that i heard a loud honk coming from the front of the house. "oh that's chloe, bye mom!" i said scooping up my backpack giving her a kiss on the cheek and dashing out the door. "bye simone, have a good day!" my mom yelled after me.
i jumped into chloe's white jeep she got over the summer and we drove to school.
*passic valley high school*
we parked in the school parking lot and went up the large set of stairs into the school. i got my schedule from the office, sadly chloe had to leave me for her first period class. i had to wait for my tour guide.
a light skinned boy with puffy curly hair walked into the office. not gonna lie he was pretty attractive. he came over and shook my hand. "hi, im vallyk." he said smiling. "hi im simone, nice to meet you vallyk." i said smiling and just maybe blushing back.
"so your new huh?" he said as we walked out the office into the empty hallway. "yeah." i said lowering my head. he showed me around and then took me to our first period. turns out we had the same first period so we sat next to each other.
*vallyk's pov*
the girl i was giving a tour to was really pretty, her name was simone. we had first period together and to be honest, i was thinking about inviting her to sit with me and my friend derek if she had no where else to sit by then. she just had this vibe, that made her seem really cool.

*simones pov*
it was really awkward between me and vallyk and besides the teacher wasn't really talking about much so i decided to turn and talk to him, get to know him a little better. "hey." i said smiling. he turned my way and smiled. "hi." he said in a shy tone.
"so, how long you've been going here?" i asked him. "since freshman year." he replied. "mm, interesting." i said. "why'd you come here from your old school?" he asked playing with one of his curls. "just wasn't for me, i felt like i didn't belong there ya know?" i explained.
"yeah, i get it. you can hang with me and my friend derek if you like." he offered. "oh i think im just gonna sit with my friend chloe." i refused. "wait chloe emmerson? how do you know her?" he asked. "yeah her. and she's been my best friend since middle school, her mom wanted her to go here." i explained.
"ah, i see." he said nodding his head. the bell rang dismissing us from the class. "see ya simone." he winked at me. i quickly said bye back and headed out the room, feeling my cheeks go red.
