Ramses Costello is a 29 year old man from Wellington, New Zealand. Originally, Ramses is from Cairo, Egypt; born and raised. Ramses has been around the world and back, but he now calls Wellington his permanent home.
Growing up in Cairo, he lived a steady and carefree life. No scars, no fights, no anything. Well, except for all the fights him and his siblings had. Ramses grew up with three younger brothers, Osiris, Ra and Sobek. Every kid in the family was named after Egyptian gods; the parents thought by naming their children after their deities, all their godly powers would transfer from the gods in heaven to each kid. Miraculously enough, that came true. The brothers and him slowly got their powers overtime, but the abilities came into full strength when they all turned 18. Ramses was yet the first to get his powers while all the brothers had to wait eight more years until they could fully use theirs. When they all came of age, Osiris got the power to wreak havoc on the innocent, killing them with no mercy whenever he pleases. Ra got the power of controlling the sun. He was able to set and rise the sun whenever he wanted, to his own pleasure. Sobek was able to control animals, preferably crocodiles that roamed the Nile. Ramses is the oldest and got the name from an old pharaoh. Rameses II was the most celebrated and decorated pharaoh in the whole world. Ramses' power was to control and seduce others to his extent.
Life in Cairo with him and his siblings being pretty much reincarnated gods, was more than they could ever dream for. They lived in immense wealth and high virtue. Everyone in Egypt came to worship at their feet for their mercy. Women all flocked to their sides to perform duties or to be wed. Ramses had more men, women and money at his sides than he could count.
Unfortunately, those days ended within a blink. Ramses' brothers overthrew Cairo and the surrounding cities in the name of all things evil and unholy; all going against what the Egyptian gods wanted in the first place. Once they overthrew Cairo, they decided to overthrow Ramses. Three powers against one, Ramses could easily be defeated. Instead of fighting back with his brothers, he fled the country. He hung his head in shame and sadness to watch his home and his brothers crumble in front of his eyes.
The city of Cairo and other neighboring countries soon went into disrepair after Ramses' brothers took over. Ramses sadly had no choice but to abandon his power of lust, corruption and his home to start anew. First he travelled Northeast to Malaga, Spain. He managed to stay there for a few months. He found some partners, both male and female. After those few months, he found himself unsatisfied. He then sailed off to Cuba where he found a few more partners. Country after country Ramses felt unsatisfied and better yet, unsafe. He had several jobs taking him to different countries; each a different task than the last. After Cuba, he travelled back to the continent of Africa to Morocco.
In Morocco, Ramses worked on the streets posing as the pharaoh he was named after. He'd paint his whole body gold and paint the Eye of Horus on his right eye. The people of Morocco seemed to never care about him, and Ramses made little to no money to help him survive.
Ramses fell into a dark depression in Morocco. He lived on the streets and became a beggar. He mostly drank his sorrows away hidden in alleyways behind bars. He felt so sad about losing his powers; he felt sad about losing his brothers to greediness and pride. Ramses was almost to about end his life even. Ramses wrote a note to whomever roamed the alleyway after it had taken place explaining who he was and how to dispose of his body. The morning of he took a walk through the city, admiring it for what seems the last time. Ramses knew that no one cared, and he also knew that he didn't care what people would think if he was to kill himself in town square. He knew it was over. He started to walk towards his alleyway. But then, he saw her. She was fair skinned and enriched with scars. She was tall, dark and gorgeous. He felt like he was going to have a heart attack. Ramses watched as the mysterious lady walked past him and through the market surrounded by a posse of what looked like knights. Ramses felt like a stalker, but he figured it wouldn't matter in a few hours.
Ramses found himself wandering the backstreets to watch the beautiful woman meander with her posse of knights following. Upon closer inspection, he could tell that she was wearing jewels upon jewels. They sparkled against the sun and radiated their beauty on her face. She looked like she was rich; she was utmost beautiful and it looked like she had a good personality too. He'd watch the girl shake hands with the people of Morocco and give out free money and food to the homeless kids. He noticed her blue eyes that mirrored the city around them, making it seem like her eyes were the model for the city itself. Then it hit him. The girl was royalty; but he didn't know where from. He knew what the princesses of the surrounding African kingdoms looked like, but she was new. She looked like she didn't belong. He thought maybe she was from southeast Europe. Switzerland, or Transylvania. Ramses really wanted to get a closer look at her, but he knew they'd never let a bum close to the princess.
All hope was lost thought Ramses. He started to make his way back to the alleyway with his heart in his gut, ready to do it until the princess stood on top of the fountain in town square. She stood tall with high authority. Ramses could feel his face getting hotter and hotter and she started to speak. She told the people that she's been far and wide looking for something. Looking for the diamond in the rough- was how she said it. The knights then handed her a huge cloth banner. With one swoop, she held it up and it opened. The banner was written Arabic. Something that completely shocked Ramses to the core and made him melt. He was blown away to see that such a pale skinned woman could write, read and speak in such an admirable manner. Ramses inched closer to the crowd, closer to her. He managed to swerve between people to be up front next to the knights. The woman looked down at Ramses, with the banner in her hand and winked. He couldn't believe it. Suddenly he felt hope, he felt happiness, and most of all he got his pride back.
As the woman spoke, Ramses could hear a strong accent. It sounded strange and unfamiliar. He thought it sounded like a English accent but something was off about it. As she spoke he heard her mention that her name was Samantha Mallory all the way from New Zealand. Instantly in love, he payed attention to her like she was the only person left on Earth.
Her banner said that she helps run the kingdom down under and that they're looking for new knights to recruit. She also explained that she will hold a competition to recruit the top ten knights who pass all her personal tests. Instantly, Ramses knew that he had to compete. He knew that he had to train and become a knight to protect her.
Samantha had explained that she, and her posse of knights, will be staying in Morocco for three months and that whoever wanted to compete they needed to train for two months. The competition will last a month. The competition, she also explained, has six different trials each competitor has to go through. The first is stamina and endurance. She'll run the competitors through the Sahara Desert on horseback. She mentions that you'll need to run as fast and as long as you can through the dessert to each oasis in metal armor. The second trial you have to sit in a dark room and stay calm while random objects sneak up on you. The third trial you will have to swim from the tip of Africa to Spain in the Strait of Gibraltar. For the fourth, you need to practice for things as if you were a prince. Walk with books on your head, practice manners, learn how to properly greet a lady. The sixth trial you need to study the location of where you'll be protecting. Know the geography, history, all of that. And for the sixth and final trial is the toughest she said. You'll need to test your sexual endurance. You will be placed in a room where various women are presented. If you are righteous enough, you will not give in to your sexual desires and pull through. If you can make it through that, you can make it through anything Samantha said.
Soon after she got done announcing the crowd dispersed back into their respective places. Samantha rolled up the banner and Ramses stayed next to the knights. He seemed to be the only one up for all the tests. Ramses tries to speak to the princess but he is shot down by her knights. The knights started pushing him around; the princess stayed and made them stop. Finally, Ramses could get to talk to her. Samantha extended her hand out to him and he graciously took it as politely as he could. Her knights weren't having any of it, so Samantha made the knights hang up posters around the whole city while they could talk. Ramses would never forget the first words she said to him.
"Ah, a handsome man like you shouldn't be here. Do you wish to be a knight, kind sir?" Ramses thought she was lying, seeing that he was completely disheveled. He had a see through silk shirt that was almost ripped to shreds. Everything else could be mistaken for just sewn up rags.
Samantha and Ramses talked amongst themselves on the fountain's ledge until sundown. She seemed very interested in him and he seemed very interested in her. Princess Samantha also explained again that she'll be staying here in Morocco for three months on the edge of town. She told him that if he had any questions, he'd be more than welcome to come visit her or come stay with her for the first two months.
After their talk in the first month and a half, Ramses managed to get a steady farming job that paid decent. In the evenings, when it was cool, he'd train himself for all the six trials. He'd run from Rabat to Kenitra and back every other day, he'd go to a snake charmer and let the snake do whatever for 30 minutes every day until he'd hold still, he'd practice all of the trials daily nonstop. Ramses became strong and fit. He could pass all his homemade trials perfectly. He felt so much better about himself after that. Every two weeks during the month and a half, he'd visit the princess in her silk tent on the edge of town.
The princess's relationship with Ramses became super close and personal. They'd go on dates around the city sometimes and have tea back at her tent to watch the sunset. Ramses liked Samantha, and Samantha liked Ramses back. But every time Ramses would see the princess, her once white streak faded back to her normal hair color and her scars disappeared.
One night, Ramses decided to go visit the princess in her tent. The princess was already asleep and her knights were guarding the entrance of her tent, letting no one enter. So, being Ramses, he slipped past the guards and surprised Samantha in her tent. That very night, both of their cherries were popped. It was rough, needy and passionate. Both of them in heaven afterwards. Ramses thought he found the one. Although Samantha didn't know if she found the one for her or not. They decided that times like this will only happen rarely, and they won't become a proper couple. They also decided that they will never talk about that night again.
A few weeks later, it was time for the trials. Turns out, hundreds upon hundreds of men came to compete. They continued the trials over the course of a month and we were down to the last eleven. One had to be eliminated. It was between Ramses and a man from Saudi Arabia. Ramses had unfortunately failed the last test of sexual endurance, because instead of a crowd of women, the princess showed up instead. They had sex in the testing room. But by the princess's demands she kicked out the man from Saudi Arabia and let Ramses pass considering their relationship. Ramses was very, very thankful and excited to leave the past behind him to start anew in New Zealand as a knight to Samantha's kingdom. He'd miss his brothers, sure, but he knew he'd never get his powers or his brothers back. Egypt was in their hands, not his. The new knight squad consisted of ten men, from all parts of the globe. A really young man from Scotland, two men from the Netherlands, one from Egypt (Ramses), three from Morocco, and three from South Africa.
Once the troop was picked, they traveled to India, then sailed back down to New Zealand. Ramses and Princess Samantha stayed really close while on the ship. Sleeping in the same cabin, him doing favors for her etc. But once they reached the mainland of Australia, Ramses noticed that the Princess was getting her scars back, along with her white streak of hair.
Back in the kingdom and with all the knights to do proper training, Ramses stayed by Sam's side for a time being. When Ramses stepped one foot inside the kingdom walls, a white streak marked his hair. And suddenly, his powers were back! He couldn't believe it. He was able to seduce and control whomever he pleased in the kingdom, but all he wanted was the princess. Ramses over the years, watched Princess Samantha dive into a deep depression about her kingdom. She started to become a drunk, concealing her pain with sex with him and alchohol. Ramses became worn out with her and decided to stop their relationship. He hated seeing her in this way, but he couldn't help. No matter how hard they tried to make their relationship work. Turns out, they were better off as friends. They accomplished a lot more as friends instead.
After that, Ramses started to be Samantha's personal knight and he bought a house in uptown Wellington, close to the castle. Ramses started going on dates and seeing people again. Later marrying the girl of his dreams, Rania and they spent their honeymoon building a vacation home. Ramses learns of the good, the bad, and the ugly of the kingdom and understands why Samantha fell down such a dark hole. But, unlike Samantha, Ramses came to accept it. He wanted to live forever with his new wife in happiness. There's moments where he thinks about how Egypt's doing in the hands of his three brothers, and how his brothers are doing but, he remembers that they once turned on him, which made this new life happen. So in retrospect, he thanks them for leading him to his wife, close friends, and his job.
