The night was cool, leafs rustled in the wind. Over a river, on a old creaking bridge was a gravel path. If one were to step on the path, it would echo, causing the surroundings area to fall silent. The trees were large, reaching towards the purple sky. The sun barley peeked over the hills, going down. The purple sky had white, sparkling specks over the sky. They glimmered and shined  soon enough, more started to appear as the sky turned grey then black

A painter walked through the woods, carrying some paint, brushes, and a canvas. The crunches from his feet echoed. A few birds here and there would stop tweeting, but then continue. Stumbling upon a hill, he climbed up the hill, tripping and catching himself on the way up. As soon as he reached the top he stared at the sky, being away from the town made it easy to see the stars. The ground was soft, welcoming almost. The painter felt at home. He sets up his canvas and gets his brushes ready. He planned to paint a scenery, a view of the forest from where he was.

A few strokes on the soft fabric and rubs, the painter started with the sky. He dabbed a few white dots for stars and a grey sky. Before Encre could continue he felt water drip onto his nose. Looking up, a few grey clouds in.  Drip drip drip went the water as it landed on leafs falling onto the ground. Before long, rain started to pour down, ruining the canvas and the paint pallet he brought with him. Encre frowned, scrambling to pick up whatever supplies he could and quickly running off.

"I didn't expect such a downfall! If anything I was expecting it to sprinkle...", He said to himself. He runs down the hill, the rain only got worst with reach step. The soft dirt turned into mud, ruining his shoes and pants. It was hard to see ahead, it was raining cats and dogs at this point. Looking around, he couldn't see any indication on where the path was. He kept walking straight, hoping he would get home soon. Within the distance he could see glowing lights. He had no other choice then to go towards it, he get easily get lost in this forest.

As he walked closer to the lights, his clothes clinged to his bones. The skeleton felt cold as water beat down on him. The bright lights came from a mansion, a few figures walked by the windows, definitely someone is home.  He quickly got up onto the porch, ringing the bell. At least he can take a break from being in the rain. His bones clicked together as he waited for an answer. A moment passes and he ringed again. No answer. However a voice from the other side could be heard.

"Whoever is out there could be one of those feral vampires."

"It's clearly a painter. They don't look the least bit harmful."

"What if they try to bite you?"

"I'm more then confident in myself to deal with feral vampires..."

The door then slowly opened, a servant peeked through the crack,"Are you here for something?", He asked.

"N-No monsieur but, I got lost when I was trying to get back into town. With this heavy rain the bright lights was all I could see. If it's not too much trouble, may I stay the night?", Encre asked, shuddering.

The servant paused for a moment,"Smile for me. I need to take a look at something.", This made Encre confused. However, he complied and smiled, nothing out of the ordinary there.

"Very well...come in.", The door opened fully, letting the soaked skeleton in. The entrance was pretty, tile floors, a large golden and red carpet down a staircase and paintings among the walls.

"Lovely home...is it yours?"

"Me? Oh, no. Absolutely not, I work for Fallacy. He's the one who owns this place. I'm Suave.", He motioned towards a table,"You can put your belongings there. They'll be dried and given back to you."

"I see... I'm Encre.", He sets the wet canvas and brushes on the table,"What is Fallacy like?"

"He's a good person. He would love to meet you. You'll see him soon enough.", Suave takes some of the brushes, inspecting them before setting them down.

Footsteps come from upstairs,"Suave? Who have you let in?", A black skeleton with mismatch colored eyes come downstairs.

"I let in a poor soul, my lord. The rain caught him and he got lost."

"I see...I'm Fallacy, you may stay the night. I have some extra clothing you can borrow. My servant will clean your clothes. Considering your tracking mud..."

Encre bites his lips, embarrassed,"Sorry! I didn't mean to be so-", the other cuts him off.

"Enough, no matter. It's already been done. Anyways...", He holds Encre's hand, planting a kiss on the back of his hand,"A bed will be ready for you...what's your name?"

"Encre...my name is Encre."
