I looked at our storage room in our penthouse. When I heard that America was going to go under quarantine, I stocked up on everything. I had a bunch of toilet paper, hand sanitizer, soap, cereals, bottled water, chips, blue candy, everything. I was NOT going to run out of stuff.
"Annabeth! Stop worrying! Come here!" yelled Percy from the kitchen. I reluctantly walked to the kitchen. Percy walked over and directed me to the table. In front of me was a steaming mug of hot chocolate. Wait a minute... this hot chocolate was...
"Blue?" I asked. Percy grinned and nodded.
"I made it myself" he seemed so proud. I cautisiously took a sip. It was great.
"Do you like it?" Percy asked.
I laughed and kissed him. "I don't like it, I LOVE it" I said. Percy's smile was brighter than anything in the entire universe.
"Soooo Annabeth. I was thinking. Can we geta puppy?" Percy asked me, his eyes sparkling.
"Percy, I've told you, no puppies yet," I said, laughing. His smile faded and his lip wobbled.
"I guess I'll just have to return this guy to the pet store" he said, and went into his room. He came out with THE CUTEST PUPPY IN THE HISTORY OF PUPPIES. My resolve broke.
"Ok, we can keep him" I said, and Percy gave the ball of fur to me. He/she had a black fur and the cutest brown eyes. I felt something leathery beneath my hand, and saw that the puppy already had a collar. It was a nice sky blue color, and I spied an identical leash on Percy's desk.
"Is it a girl or a boy?" I asked "It's a boy. What shoul we name him?" Percy asked.
"Ummm, how about Oddyseus?" I asked. When I was growing up, Oddyseus was my favourite Greek hero. He was a child of Athena, like me, and unlike some others, he didn't want to impress the gods, or take over a city. He just wanted to go home. But his journey, The Oddesy, took him TEN FREAKING YEARS to complete. Honestly, you guys should read it. It's great.
"Cool" said Percy, and set Oddyseus down. "Oh, and, I had Thalia train him and everything before, so he knows five commands. Sit, Stay, Roll Over, Lie Down, and Heel" Percy ticked them off on his fingers.
"Ok, because I did NOT want to train a dog" I say, laughing. I hugged Percy and pecked him lips.
"I love you, Seaweed Brian," I said,
"I love you too, Wise Girl"
Just then, a notification came on my phone. It read:
New York City is under quarantine from the Coronavirus until further notice.
I showed Percy.
"I-I don't think I have enough stuff, I need to go to the grocery store" I said. Percy set a strong arm on my shoulder.
"Chiron told me that when we run out of food and stuff, to Iris-message him, and he'll send some over," I told her.
"Yeah, but I have no dog food!" I said, and pointed to Oddyseus. I grabbed my bag and ran for the door of our apartment. I drove to the supermarket in a frenzy.
