Before the morning sun rose ,the Sky was watching an object float in the Oceans waters. Intrigued, the Sky focused their vision to a very peculiar sight. A very tired and thin old man, but worst of all he was in a very small boat. His knees touched his chest as he rocked in the water. The Sky called out to the Ocean who was guiding the man through their waves. " Ocean! Ocean!Oh please do be careful with the old passenger!" The Ocean finally paid attention to the elder man, " Oh dear! Poor man is in a small boat! How uncomfortable he must be" declared the Ocean.
The two watched as the old man stretched his arm and smacked his dry lips. "What a lovely night sky." said the man "Oh how I wish I could share the beauty of the stars with my children." The sky frowned deeply, for they felt awfully bad for the old man. The sadness of the Sky turned the clouds grey. The Ocean turned their focus to their sad friend "Oh don't be sad dear Sky, the man isn't bothered. Here, I shall guide him to this island to rest." Before the Ocean had a chance to start their work, the Sky shouted and said "No Ocean, that island has no food for him! All it has are dangerous creatures and poisoned fruit!" Feeling hopeless for the man the Sky began to cry, rain fell and disturbed the waves.
" Ah thank you dear Clouds..." said the old man in a small boat "...for giving me this fresh water to drink!" The old man began to wash himself and drink the rainwater. He seemed very happy and grateful. In an attempt to comfort their dear friend, the Ocean exclaimed " Look Sky! He's drinking your water! He's so happy to you!" The Sky continued to cry despite helping the man and in a staggery voice the Sky said "Yes, but you see Ocean that is all I can do for him, he's still so thin and weak. That poor poor old man." The Ocean began to become frustrated with the Sky. Why can't they see that the old man isn't bothered? Thought the Ocean Oh they're just throwing a fit for the hell of it! The Oceans waves became more disturbed. The waves began to grow larger and move more rapidly due to the frustration.
In another attempt to ease the Sky the Ocean began to try and reach for them. "What are yo- Oh dear! Please do be careful with the man on the boat! You'll crush him!" Screamed the Sky! "He'll be fine!" snapped the Ocean "Please just calm down and stop crying!" With the Sky in depression and the Ocean in frustration the waves and clouds became angry. With thunder rumbling and the waves reaching mountains, the old man simply admired the change in his environment. "Oh dear it seems to be getting bad," said the man, "but I've never seen such beautiful grays or such high waves like this. What a beautiful sight." The man chuckled to himself accepting the danger and continued to watch the Ocean reach and the sky cry. Then suddenly ,the ocean sent waves so high they touched the clouds , and the enormous wave landed on the old man in the small boat.
The Sky stopped crying, the Ocean stopped their fit of anger. The waves and thunder went calm and silent. The two watched for a resurgence of anything. The sun began to rise, and with the sun's rays the small empty boat appeared. The Ocean, realizing what he has done he apologized over and over for the life of the man. The Sky painted himself with a beautiful rainbow as a farewell gift. Then the soul of the man appeared from the water. He kissed the Ocean and thanked him for the lovely journey, and floated to the clouds thanking the sky for the rainbow and a final drink of water. Then the man flew away, until neither the Sky or the Ocean could see him. The Ocean has carried that small empty boat, for he shall never forget, the old man who once sat in it.
