The Beginning of the Savior

Chloe was jumping on my bed as usual again.  I guess Melissa didn’t want the accidental run in with me, after what had happened yesterday. 

“Chloe, I love you but you’re going to give me a stroke!”

“I’m sorry cousin! I just wanted to play! « ♥ It’s so boring here in the morning.  Grandpa is too old to play and no one else is awake yet!”

“Well, Chloe, you can always find your some stuff in the mines! I bet if you find some stuff for Grandpa it would make him really happy!” She so gullible. And no, this is not child labor if she wants to.

“Really!? Okay, see ya later cousin.  I’ve got some exploring to do!”

“Okay okay close the door on the way… out… zzz”

“Owen! Rise and shine! I need you to go into town for me!” Wow if Chloe is not here to wake me up, Grandpa will fill in. 

“Grandpa, can’t it wait? I want to sleep!!”

“Nope I need this stuff sooner rather than later! Get up.”  I don’t have any rest in this house! What could he need anyways! I thought we had plenty of food!

“I need you to go to Horn Ranch and get some food for Charlie,” Ugh I hated that goat.  He always snuck in my room and nibbled on my all of things.  My Grandpa found that goat running around on top of the house one year and took him in. A wild goat I know, but he has trained a little bit.  I still think that goat has something against me though, because he doesn’t chew on anyone else’s things.  I guess the Animal Festival was coming up.  My Grandpa always races with him in the animal race.  He never wins though.

“Doesn’t he have plenty of things to eat in my room?”

“Now don’t be smart! Hurry up, you have 10 minutes.” Gah I’m 22, don’t I get to make my own decisions now! I got up right away and made my way outside saying goodbye to my Grandpa as I left.  I started down the mountain when I realized that I had to walk through Melissa’s farm to get to Flute Fields. I hadn’t been to Flute Fields in such a long time, and when I went last time, Melissa hadn’t even moved here yet. This nervous thought had never came to mind before.  I went all the way around her farm wandering from the path.  Hoping she wouldn’t see me, and also hoping I would get the chance to see her again, but in better circumstances.  How did I make it all the way through her giant property without being spotted? I slipped up to her windows and didn’t see anyone so I continued on my way.  I guess she is out doing errands, at least I didn’t have to see her while sneaking around.  When I got to Flute Fields I waved to the people who live by Marimba Farm and ran over the hill, but when I got to the door...

"It was nice seeing you again, Bye!"

Melissa and I were face to face when she opened the door.

"You just can't keep yourself away can you? I bet you followed me here."

"No no I was coming to get food for my goat!"

"Psh, the only people that have an animal in the Garmon Mine District is Luke's family! You're a bad liar"

"I swear!"

"Uh huh, if you wanted to see me you could have just asked..."

"Wait... what?"

"Ya know like, asked me to hang out, instead of creeping around, following me."

"I uh didn't know we were that close."

"We’re just friends right? Nothing weird about that!"

"If you say so..."

"So I’ll see you tomorrow at the bar? Cool, see you then!" ;) 

What just happened? Do I have a date tomorrow? No, no she said it was just as friends... That will work out fine. Nothing weird. *sigh*  what was I doing again? Oh right, right, food for Charlie.  

"Hello Hanna, could I get some fodder, please?"

"Well hello there, of course you can honey! You know, you are all the girls around here have been talking about!"

"Uh why?" That's weird, why are they talking about me? And wait...who? "Wait...who?"

"I don’t know, I guess you're quite the catch! Renee said that Kathy has a little school girl crush on you.  And Melissa came in just a minute ago asking about you!"

"W-What did uh Melissa say?"

"Oh, honey, I promised not to tell! But I can see you're blushing, you must like her, huh?"

"I uh...no! Well, maybe..."

"Well, I suppose I can tell you.  I may or may not have given her advice on how to ask you out, but you didn't hear that from me, I hope everything works out for you!" :) Wow she-she likes me.  I felt like I was going to throw up. She has been here for a long time now, but I never thought we would actually have a chance.

"Wow, that's amazing! Thank you so much!"

As she handed over the bag of fodder, I thanked her again and ran home.
