The Beginning of the Savior

When I got home I could barely hold in the excitement. Chloe was home and I just had to tell someone.

"Chloe, Melissa and I are going on a date tomorrow!" I may be a guy, but I have feelings too. That isn't just a girl thing.

"Wow, Melissa is going to be my sister! She is like my best friend!!" :)

"No, no Chloe, this is just a date!"

"Oh well, I tried! She's still my best friend, and you guys will be super cute together!" :)

"Thanks Chloe, should I bring her something?"

"No you big dork! You'll seem too excited buying her stuff right off the bat!"

"What do you know, you're just a little kid!"

"Then why'd you ask me, I AM still a girl!"

"I don't know, i'm nervous!"

"You're silly brother!" Sometimes Chloe calls me brother. Her parents died when she was young and we both moved to grandpa's house around the same time. Half the reason I came here was to help with Chloe. I don't know what we'd do if we lost each other.

"Ha yeah...is it 10 already?! you should go to sleep!"

"Noooo! It's so pretty at night! I'm gonna go watch the stars!"

"Well, okay, don't stay out too late! Good night."

"Night night!" :)

I was already thinking about the date when I woke up when I realized, she didn't tell me a time. She just told me she would see me today. Oh no! I can't just hang out there all day! I'll just stay in Harmonica Town I guess, and keep an eye out for her.

I got dressed in the usual garb and went out to ask my grandpa if he needed anything while I was in town, but he wasn't there. Hmm I wonder where he is... Oh well, I guess I got out of work easier than I thought. I headed over to the minecart and made my way to the church grounds. When I got to town I went browsing through all the shops, since it is only 10:00, I have a while until the bar opens. Hm maybe I could go fishing... oh wait! There is a mine here in town, i'll just go in there, duh!

It was a lot gloomier in this mine. I am not too familiar with this mine, it was a strange place for a mine, afterall. I had cleared all the rocks and crystals in this level, but I went over the area again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Ah ha, a sneaky rock, one left behind. I crushed it and a red gas filled the air and I hit the ground. Next thing I knew I was in the clinic and Jin was telling me I was free to go.

"What happened?" I asked. "Well I suppose you were knocked out by one of the gasses down in the mine. You of all people should know to be more careful." Jin said kind of annoyed. "What time is it?!" "It is... 18:00" Wow what luck! "I need to go!" I rushed out of the clinic and ran down the ramp to the bar. When I got in I saw Melissa looking kind of disappointed at a table to the left. She looked up and a smirk grew on her face. I went and sat down and explained why I wasn't there already.

"It's okay Owen, I was only here for 10 minutes before you showed up!"

"Oh okea well do you want to order something?" I asked nervously. "You can, I already ordered" "Oh okea, waiter?" I shouted for Chase as he crossly walked over to the table. "Well, well, what can I get the lovely couple?" Chase said and rolled his eyes. He didn't look very happy. "Um... can I get the stirfry please?" "Wow, so alike already... Coming right up" Chase said sarcatically and left to tend to the other couple in the bar, Julius and Candace. "What's his problem?"

Melissa's POV

"I give presents to everyone, everyday, he must have gotten the wrong idea from me Ha, sorry" I looked up and Owen was blushing, it's cute. "It's okay, you didn't do anything wrong... but um... Do you want this? It's nothing much, but I thought you might want it" Owen pulled out a Garnet and slid it across the table. "Wow, that's so thoughtful, of course I want it, thank you :)" I looked over Owens shoulder trying not to make eye contact, because I might blush. I saw Chase talking to Julius and Candace and then Julius looked over at me. He got a devilish smile on his face and came over to our table.

"My, my, what do we have here? A couple of love birds?" Julius said and winked at me. "No, no, I mean... we're just friends, thats all!" I looked over and saw Owen's face drop. I heard Chase chuckle behind the counter and I knew I messed up. Oh no, I didn't mean it like that... I'm just so nervous. The words just fell out of my mouth and now I pushed Owen away. It's not like he knows I like him anyway, maybe I still have a chance! "Well, if you say so sweetheart!" Julius replied and shambled back to Candace.

Chase brings over our food not a second later. "Hey we both got stir-fry!" Owen said laughing. "Yea haha, its the only decent meal here!" I smilied and looked down at my food, I was starving. After a while of chatting Owen said he had to get back so his family wouldn't get worried. I pulled out my phone as he left, and a familiar purple headed brat scooted in front of me.

"Can I help you?" I asked Julius. "You're a bad liar, Melissa..." He said and winked again. "What do you mean?" "I can tell you like Owen, It's plain to see. Even Chase could tell. You didn't see the annoyance stewing in him when he was talking to you guys?" Julius said shocking me, I could feel my face get red as he continued. "Ooo you're blushing, admit it, you like him!"

"So what if I do! It's not like he likes me anyways!" I annouced back, turning some heads in the bar, including Kathy's. I could feel her gaze all night. "Honey you are blind as a bat! He definitely likes you back! I've seen the way he looks at you. I am in close encounters with him almost everyday, trust me." I eased up and explained what had happened over the past few days and Julius squeaked in happiness. "Girl, I will help you get that man, you have my word!" He said as he patted me on the head and skipped out of the bar. I guess Candace had left aleady.
