Aurora POVI whimpered yet again, as another lightning bolt lit up the night sky. I couldn't tell where I was going or when I would finally be safe. All I knew was that they had captured Tyler , and I was their next target.
My wolf form was too weak for me to shift, so I had to resort to running in my human form. And let me tell you, depending on your barefeet to outrun wolves, in the middle of a forest, will not get you anywhere.
My body was covered in mud and dirt, and my feet were badly bruised from all the sticks and rocks that I had to run on. I knew I was bleeding from the way it stung with each step that I took, but there was nothing that I could do about it. Their deathly growls were growing louder and louder by the minute, meaning that they were drawing in much closer than I thought.
My breath hitched at the glimpse of a large black wolf approaching me from the side. It growled lowly, a warning sign to stop running, but I couldn't, my brain was telling me one thing but my legs seemed to have a mind of its own.
Four more wolves were approaching me, each one coming into view from the side. They were surrounding me, preparing for a fight where I was bound to lose.
I let out a scream of pain as I was tackled from my side, my head contacting the ground first thing. I grunted, using all my strength to wrestle with him but to no avail. He was much bigger and much heavier than I was, besides, there's no point wrestling a wolf in your human form. It was beyond useless.
The other wolves had shifted back by now, and were towering above me. Guns were aimed at my forehead, ready to shoot in case I decided to do anything.
I wanted to cry by this point. My legs were sore from all the running and my hair was a mess after he had tackled me. I needed to find Tyler, I needed to save him. After all he's done for me and this is how I repay him?
"State your name and which pack you are from. Who sent you and how did you get here?" The tallest one spoke. His voice held no emotion, no ounce of kindess or warmth, just pure hatred.
"I don't have to say anything to you." I spat back. I knew I sounded pathetic, trying to be tough when I wasn't. But from what Tyler had taught me, I knew that if I was anything but tough, they would enjoy hurting me more.
"By order of the kings, you are trespassing our borders and are hereby arrested for trial. If you do not wish to answer before us, you'll be forced to answer before the kings." The wolf on top of me rolled off of my body with a grunt, shifting back into his male form just as quickly as he got up. The men behind me grabbed my arms, tying them together with a tight rope as they forced me onto my knees.
My breathing hitched, watching him smirk down at me. He was right. I had entered unknown terrority, I was under their rules and their control.
I had no chance against the kings. Everyone knew it was a death wish, entering the kings' territory. Not even the strongest packs could save you from their wrath.
How on earth would they let a rogue go ?
Especially one without a pack.
I let out a cry of pain when one of the guard fisted my hair in his hands, yanking it harshly so that I was meeting the gaze of their leader.
"So what will it be, are you going to talk or do we have to make you talk?" He spat as the man pulled my hair harder, earning yet another shriek from me.
My cries were cut short when three deathly growls erupted through the forest. It's power and force causing all of the guards to fall to their knees, their hands pressed tightly against their ears for protection.
