SUNLIGHT poured into the room through the once covered windows. Dahlia slowly opened her eyes and felt herself positioned oddly. She looked at what she was sleeping on and registered that it was Klaus' chest. She quickly moved her body next to him but slept facing him. The girl was going to originally fake being asleep, but she couldn't stop staring at him. The usual deep lines that were caused by his furrowed brows were gone. His face looked so relaxed, and for a moment, Dahlia thought he looked innocent.

She snapped back into reality and realized she had just slept with Klaus Mikaelson not even 12 hours ago. The girl jolted up and covered her body with the long silk bedsheet. The hybrid woke up and examined Dahlia as a smirk plastered his face.

"Nothing I haven't seen, doll." His husky morning voice spoke. Dahlia turned around to hide her blushing.

"Last night was.."

"Nothing to be ashamed of. You're quite feisty in bed." He was suddenly speaking in her ear. She scrunched her face in disgust and faced him. Their faces were only a mere step away. She tried to speak but his bare chest caught her eye and flustered her. He smirked again.

"What's the matter, my love?" Dahlia knew it wasn't a big deal, but she felt her heart flutter when he called her my love.

"Do you ever stop smirking? I hate it. So smug." She rolled her eyes. His smirk was still there but it grew, so much that his dimples were now on display.

"Really? And here I thought girls swooned over my smirk." He watched her as she scoffed.

"Well I'm not swooning over you. So if you'll excuse me-" Klaus cut her off by lightly choking her against the left side of his room and pulled the silk sheet off. He leaned in and ran his hand up the inside of her thigh. Without thinking, a soft moan escaped her lips.

"Your moan tells me otherwise, darling." He gave an arrogant smile and walked away. She stood there against the wall, her face now a deep shade of red. She hated how he knew he was her weakness. She wrapped the bedsheet around her body again and tip-toed to her room. Dahlia bumped into someone while running down the hallway. She looked up and was met with Elijah. She gave an awkward smile.

"Not even gonna comment." He looked her up and down, confused. He continued walking past her. She wanted to crawl into a deep, dark pit and never get out. She finally got into her room and closed the door. Dahlia took off her clothes and turned on the shower. While she stood under the hot water, she thought about what happened the night before. She hated to admit it, but it was amazing.

The girl felt guilty when she remembered what Caroline told her. If Klaus killed his own family, who's to say he won't kill her? She wondered about what other inhumane things he'd done. She shut her eyes in an attempt to console herself. She deserved this; someone good to her. Maybe he wasn't necessarily good for her, but he was good to her. Her thoughts ran wild in her head like kids playing tag in an empty field.

She turned the tap off and grabbed her towel. The white, soft towel was wrapped tightly around her body and she stepped into her room. Even though she knew he didn't care, Dahlia wanted to dress to impress Klaus. She hoped he wouldn't toss her away after their night together. She paired a lavender cropped sweater with a yellow and blue plaid skirt. As she blowdried her hair, Dahlia couldn't stop seeing flashes of last night. Her brain kept bringing it up even as she tried to put it at the back of her mind.

Once her hair was fully dry, she looked out the window while wearing her converse. She saw Elijah and Rebekah talking in the garden. They spoke so intently that Dahlia wished she had vampire hearing to find out what they were saying. She decided to walk out to the garden.

"Look who it is." Rebekah scowled as Dahlia approached the garden. Dahlia rolled her eyes and Elijah ignored Rebekah's comment.

"Dahlia, hello.  We were just speaking about..."

"About you! And how your throat will be ripped out in about 24 hours. Or maybe Kol will go straight for the heart." She smirked. Dahlia held her breath. She had completely forgot about Kol and his arrival tomorrow.

"And by the way, I heard everything that was going on behind Niklaus' bedroom door. Actually, I think the whole neighbourhood did." Rebekah's smirk grew as she watched Dahlia look down uncomfortably.

"I'm surprised you're still here, actually. Niklaus usually rids of his toys out the next day." Dahlia knew she was trying to provoke her, but deep down, she hoped it wasn't true.

"Rebekah." Elijah said harshly.

"Would you mind leaving us to speak?" He glared at her. She gave an annoyed sigh and walked back towards the house. Elijah led her to a cream-coloured bench in the middle of the garden. The two sat down and the man spoke.

"Kol will inflict no harm upon you, Dahlia. We'll be watching him all night. There's no way he'll get to you, and if he does, just be calm."

"What do you mean "if he does"? You're saying he could get to me?" She bounced her leg up and down in worry. Elijah stood up with his hands behind his back. He stood near a flower and admired it.

"He could, but he won't." He finally said. She bit her lip and tried to believe his words.

"Oh quit being so dramatic will you, brother?" The two were interrupted by a heavy accent approaching them. Dahlia felt her heart race and her blood rush.

"Niklaus." Elijah simply nodded towards him. Klaus sat at the end of the bench, away from Dahlia. She tried not to think much of it.

"I'll tear Kol limb from limb should he do anything." He slid over and put an arm behind Dahlia. Her leg was still bouncing up and down.

"Your threats never did scare Kol." Elijah's voice broke Dahlia's thoughts. His back was turned towards them as he was still staring at the flowers. Klaus took his hand and put it on Dahlia's thigh to stop her shaky leg. She felt goosebumps at his touch, but at once, she stopped bouncing her leg. Elijah turned around and saw Klaus' hand on her thigh.

"Get a room." He walked away from the two. Dahlia didn't even have to look at Klaus to know he had a smirk on his face.

"I reckon you don't have a dress for tomorrow's ball?" He turned and spoke while studying her face. Dahlia stared straight ahead, afraid she'd kiss him again.

"Nope." She said.

"I'm sure we have one for you." He lightly held her jaw and turned her face to his.

"Great." She faked a smile. He saw right through it and scoffed.

"You're still afraid." He sighed and let go of her face. It was his turn for him to stare ahead.

"I'm sorry, am I supposed to be calm? Am I supposed to be okay with a psycho vampire threatening to kill me?" Her voice broke out. His nonchalence drove her crazy.

"I'm with you." He said softly. She felt a wave of relief at his words.

Dahlia watched the dim stars from her window. Her painted fingernails tapped against the wooden walls. She felt like someone was twisting her insides, Kol specifically. Her heels hurt because of how much she paced back and forth all night. She finally threw herself on her bed and covered her body with the thick blanket. The countless thoughts in her head came to a halt as she dozed off.
