Chapter 2: A Dream?

Grayson Pov:

Last night was complicated, I don't really know how to describe it. It was all great until Brine showed up, but that's what hes good at ruining people's lives. I was sitting on my bed in my room after I had helped fluffy. I couldn't really sleep this off cause of how embarrassed I was feeling. But why was I so embarrassed was it the fact that he was shipping us, or do i. . . No it cant I mean I had a family. Also he knew that he even pointed out where they had died. . I had gotten back at the empire but still it won't ever fix anything.. .I had to watch them be hanged and couldn't do anything, I felt something wet fall down my cheek but quickly wiped it away... I ended up laying down not trying to work myself up about what happened, but soon I drifted off with a thought . .should I try to move on? .. .

This morning I woke up pretty early and went upstairs, passed the library on to the 3rd. It was pretty nice and quiet just looking out the window seeing the sunrise. I had almost forgotten what had happened yesterday mostly. I had heard some footsteps and surprisingly saw Fluffy when I turned around. Good morning She had turned around quickly, I guess she wasn't expecting me to be there but then she said Good morning I had asked her what she was doing up here and she said she wanted to enjoy the view, which I couldn't blame her. It was a pretty great way to start the day by seeing it. But what Fluffy had to tell me next caught me off guard. "So. . You know that book you gave me yesterday?" I agreed, saying "Yeah, the red one why?" I wonder where this was going "Well. .it turned out to be a romance novel and I didn't notice till the 10th time I read it.'' I was not expecting that at all, but since I was in a really good mood I tried to make it less awkward as possible "Oh Well. .I mean that's cool you read it 10 times but uh why?" I don't know if I made it a bit more awkward or not. "Oh. .I stress read it's a bad habit of mine." Well after that I was kinda lost for words so I changed the subject. "Oh. . well uhm do you want to go on a walk, Princess?" I don't know why but it almost became a habit of me calling her princess out of nowhere, but it was pretty amusing though to see her react to it. "Sure yeah. ." I can tell she's still slightly awkward from it to even react.

Fluffy Pov:

I climbed up the ladder onto the roof, still a bit flustered from Grayson calling me Princess. He climbs up after me and I jump off the edge of the roof, summoning my magic to slow my fall and glide down. He follows suit, but his glide wasn't as graceful as mine. Grayson was still learning the ropes on that. I grin, looking up at the practically cloudless day. I wonder how the others are doing back at home. I sigh and look at Grayson. "Well, Shall we go, Princess?" He smirks and I fluster. "I-You! Stop it!!" He laughs and runs off, with me in hot pursuit. "Get back here, you Infidel! How dare you abandon your Princess!" I grin and laugh and he laughs as well. "I thought you didnt like people calling you princess." I roll my eyes grinning. "I can call myself a princess, but it's cringy when other people say it." He runs ahead again and I leap forward, tackling him down. "Gotcha!" He laughs and grins. My heart pounds, being so close to him. I shove that feeling down and get up, allowing him to sit up. He sits up and I look at the sky, we had been chasing each other all day apparently, but it seemed like it was just five minutes of being out here. "Time really does fly by when you're having fun. We should head back, it's getting pretty dark,''

Grayson had said, getting up from the floor. "Yeah, you done calling me, Princess?" I looked at him and started walking for now. I rolled my eyes, as he followed behind me. He walked a bit faster than I did passing me, I don't know he seemed to either have a lot of energy or really really happy. Whatever it was, it put a smile on my face. He had already flown up onto the tower shouting something. "Slowpoke" I just rolled my eyes, and I flew up onto the tower lightly hitting him. He laughed a bit as he climbed down the ladder, me trailing slightly behind him. We make it down to the first floor and I sigh, gazing out the front doors at the moon. "I wonder how the others are doing." I shake my head and look at Grayson. I cant help but smile at him. I bet they're fine, they can take care of themselves I nod understandingly and lean against the wall. "Hey Lovebirds." I look at the stairs where Brine had appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Then it hit me. It wasnt a dream last night. Brine had actually shipped me and Grayson. I blush again and stare at the opposite wall, not wanting to show that I was blushing. Brine chuckles and crosses his arms, smiling his creepy smile. "U-um it wasnt a dream um Im going to head to my room!" I race to my room again, seeking refuge in my blanket fort on my bed. I can hear Brine chuckle and I blush. I could tell it was going to be hard to fall asleep tonight.

I lay on my bed and silently groaned. I knew I needed to face the problem face on in order to get it out of the way. "Uhm. . night fluffy. ." I sigh and just lay there staring at the wall. "Night Grayson." Maybe I should approach him tomorrow about it Yeah. Thats the best option. I flip over to my side and sigh. Hopefully tomorrow will be as beautiful as it was today.
