Object: supposedly haunted mirror

Location: Zak Bagans Haunted Museum (Las Vegas, Nevada)

Bela Lugosi, better known as Dracula got his start in acting in 1917, becoming famous for his role as the well known vampire, Count Dracula, from 1931 until his death in 1956, although his legacy lives on today and many people still know him. Acting, however, is not the only thing Lugosi liked to do. Lugosi had an odd obsession with the occult. One of Lugosi's many odd obsessions included Scrying.

Scrying: foretell the future using a crystal ball or other reflective object or surface

In this case, the "reflective object" happened to be a certain mirror that Bela Lugosi owned. It is claimed that he started scrying more and more after the death of his wife, as he would try to contact her through the mirror. It is believed that this may have opened a portal that was never fully closed. However, the idea of him wanting to contact a deceased wife is not true. Lugosi was married 5 times. His first 4 marriages ended in divorce and his 5th marriage ended when Lugosi himself died. This shows that there was no way for him to attempt to contact his dead wife, as he did not have one. But that raises even more questions. If he wasn't trying to contact his dead wife, who or what was he trying to contact?

Moving on from the suspicions, there are a lot of factual and horrific things that this mirror had been around for as well, and if a portal really was left open, I wouldn't be surprised if the mirror absorbed some of this horrible energy. One of the things that the mirror was a witness to was the murder of Frank Saletri. After Bela Lugosi passed, a man named Frank moved into his house. The mirror was left behind, and left behind a curtain in the bedroom. In the same bedroom, Frank Saletri was brutally murdered, an attack believed to have been mob related. A part in this article says "We were informed that Frank died a horrific death in that bedroom, a likely mob hit, stating he had 'screwdrivers to the back of the elbows, to the knees, to the back of the head. He was shot, and that screwdriver dug out those bullets." The tour guide went on to say the only witness to the event was ... this mirror, and "if Bela left any kind of portal open, all the energy from the murderer looking into this mirror and also the energy from that horrific death would be trapped.'" Obviously, the murder of this man was very grim and would radiate negative energy, and the portal (say it is real) definitely would have picked some of that up.

The belief with this mirror is that if you look into the mirror for an extended amount of time (for some, even a quick glance is enough) you will become to feel ill, see things behind you, and even witness your own face twist and morph into one that is no longer your own.

My opinion on this mirror is that it could seriously have some very weird things going on with it, and possibly have some negative energy attached to it, but I feel that the story that has been put along with it by Zak Bagans is fabricated and made to seem greater than it really is.
