Chapter IV: Risen

Spirit Of Doom didn't mind us sticking around for the next two days. But I needed to find Lilly, and I couldn't waste resources he was giving us. If Spirit Of Doom helps others, we should not stay long and let him do his thing.

"Is there any other name I can call you, Spirit?" I asked.
"Yes, you can call me Jack." He replied.
"I am thankful for what you have done for me and Mei. I think we are okay to go now." I said as I got off the bed and stretched.

"Kid, before you go. I can see you didn't realize how the world around you adapted to the current situation." Jack said.
"What do you mean, Jack?" I asked.
"Oh boy. If I let you go like this you will die the second I let you out there. In the short span of half a month. There were a group of people who have risen and made their own factions. Your friend Lilly belonged to one of them." Jack said.
"Huh?" I was confused.
"Considering faction wars, I'm not in any part of it. But, I should suggest which one you should stay from. Your friend, Lilly. Was in one of the factions called Risen." Jack said.
"Why didn't she told me?" I asked.
"Becoming part of them is difficult. Risen are a group of people who stood together once Raptors banished them from the bunkers. They don't trust anyone." Jack said.
"Who was the group that attacked me and Lilly?" I asked.
"As far as I know. Considering she wasn't killed on spot. I would say you were attacked by Crows. The faction is controlled by the Mother. She gave shelter and nurtured boys and girls such as yourself. I don't blame what happened to her. She was like me. It is known to me that the treaty between the Crows and Risen was broken. Crows lost all of their weapons and girl from the faction was found mutilated and raped. The only one who could have gotten so much close to them to steal their weapons were Risen. The factions were at treaty and would often stay in each others camps. But I am sure the work I have seen was done by Black Skulls." Jack said.
"Who are they?" I asked. 
"Ex-mercenaries, convicts, soldiers, you name it. Bunch of psychos who go around do what they please and take what they want. That's why I am imploring you to take care of your new friend. They don't kill women and children. They take them. They convert the children and take them under their wings and they keep the girls around for... you get what I am trying to say. Even Raptors don't mess with them. If they actually got a hold of that weapon. I'm afraid all factions are in danger." Jack said.
"I doubt there is anything I can do about that... Who are Raptors? I heard Madison and Lilly mention their name." I said.
"They are the "New Goverment" of our world. They have the equipment, weapons, machines, drones, helicopters. You name it. Some people even fear them more than the Black Skulls. Black Skulls shoot anyone they see on sight and will try to kidnap people if they can. If you come across Raptors. Who knows what will happen to you. They use Doom Hunters to help them find children of doom. Some people think that Doom Hunters are actually people who got caught by the Raptors." Jack said.
"What are the people who are like me? Who don't belong to any faction, Jack?" I asked
"You are Nomads. There are plenty of you roaming around, surviving and exploring our scorched land. I myself am a Nomad. I only seek to help people and stay away from any faction." Jack said. 
"How do you know so much? How did you know how to find me?" I asked.
"I just feel the energies, kid. Energies are all around me. When I hear cries I will save them if I can. The cries stop when the Rippers get you. I don't even want to think about what they do to those people. I hear most cries coming from people captured by Black Skulls." Jack said.
"I need to find Lilly." I said.
"Are you ready to go then?" Jack replied.
"Yes, what about you, Mei?" I asked.
"Hai!" She said.
"Put me in the closest place where I can find Lilly, Jack! Please." I said.
"It's your funeral, kid. I hope you don't kill your new friend over here with your choices. Are you alright with this, Mei?" Jack asked.
"Hai, I don't want to leave his side." Mei Said.
"Heh, alright, kid. I'll drop you off near the camp of the Risen. I hope you know what you are doing." Jack said as he slightly laughed.

Jack had laid me down and put me in a headlock. I lost consciousness but I was happy. I will soon see Lilly.

I woke up in a ruined building. Mei was snuggled up against me. I softly brush her face and rock her in order to wake her up.

"Wake up, Mei. We need to go." I whispered.
"K-koko... wa... doko?" She mumbled.
I didn't understand what she was saying.
"Wake up. We are almost there." I said.
"O-Okay." She whispered as she got up.

We walked for about 20 minutes. I almost lost all hope. We came across a steel door. I didn't even think anyone would be there but it could be worth a shot to look for more supplies.

The door wouldn't open so I tried pushing and pulling back. What was inside of this building behind this door. 

Suddenly the door slammed open. Pushing me back as a man came out pointing rifle at me. Mei stood behind me.

"Shinaide kudasai!" Mei yelled.
"Who are you? What do you want?" The man asked.
"I-I'm here to see Lilly." I said.
"I asked who are you?" He said.

Five more guys came out the door. One of them pointing gun at me. The rest of them holding machetes and knives.

"I-I'm here to see Lilly. My name is Weirdo, this is my friend, Mei." I said.
"Didn't Jonathan mentioned someone named Weirdo?" The guy pointing the rifle at me asked others.
"I remember Lilly talking about a guy named Weirdo. The dumbest guy she knew. He is supposed to be dead." One of the guys replied.
"So, she is here?" I asked with excitement.
"Shut up!" He said as he punched me in a face with a rifle.
"Yamete!" Mei screamed.
"He could be part of Raptors. Lilly wouldn't lie. We need to kill them right now!" The guy with the rifle yelled.

Something punched through the wall of the building. It was 8 feet long with muscles so large I could see it tear through its skin. I couldn't see its face since it had a black mask over it only showing its eyes.

It started punching the other man. Tossing them and knocking them like they are feathers. The he stomped the heads of two men with its feet. The heads simply exploded and it looked like he had not break a sweat doing it.

He focused on me. He grabbed my head and lifted me up like I was nothing.

"How did a pussy like you survived for this long?" He asked in a deep loud voice.
I was mumbling and trying to make out words.
"I used to be like you. Weak, pathetic, useless. Now I own the world. Too bad you won't get to experience it too. Now comes the best part." He said as I could feel my head being squeezed.

"Yamete, baka!" Mei screamed as she grabbed the rifle and shot him in his neck. He let me go as I fell back and moved behind the doors. He ran towards Mei.

"You little bitch!" He screamed in a deep loud voice as he chased Mei.

Mei squeezed through the small crack at the end of the building. I could see him punching through the walls as he chased her.

"Quickly! Over here!" One of the men from the building screamed. I assume he was one of the friends of the fallen people who wanted to kill me at first. I was worried about Mei. But I didn't have a choice. I followed the man.
