The Love In Our Garden

We are too young for the ache in our bones

And far too old for our slow timid ways

When we fight, knees are scraped as we stumble upon lost tombstones

When we love, stars are born between our gaze

I was there to view every fear and every doubt

Unwrapping your mind, every thought a beautiful surprise

We wander aimlessly through every conversation, just another scenic route

You stayed, never shying away from my thorn littered thighs

I stayed even after you pushed me away and spit your past regrets

You say I was never scared and that I didn’t fear the unknown

I say I miss your warmth and the smoke of hand rolled cigarettes

Our love is the garden that was forgotten, beautifully overgrown

I love you, I see you, not just the highs but the lows

we love our overgrown garden, and the moss under our toes
