“Damn~!” My best friend, Hannah, exclaims as she watches Eren and I quarrel, training.
Eren and I pause momentarily and I smile at her, turning back to Eren.
“Can I train with him next?” She asks me.
I roll my eyes playfully. “Sure.”
After I flip Eren, I hand him over to Hannah and begin to walk over to a wooden log that is a few centimeters taller than me, but I stop when I see the lance corporal, Levi walk into the training area.
I yawn and stretch, only to realise that the captain is behind me, “Seems as though we have a decent this year.”
“Levi Heichou!” I salute him.
“Your fighting skills are far more impressive than many… and stop saluting, you made it into the survey corps, you don’t need to kiss up to us anymore,” He says, knitting his eyebrows together.
I drop my arms and slacken my posture, rolling my eyes.
I smirk, “I could probably beat you, too.”
He quirks an eyebrow at me and I hear many gasps from the nearby observers.
“Lexi, that’s humanity’s strongest, you might not want to fight that,” Hannah says, trying to restrain me by pulling on my arm.
“Yeah, I don’t care, so let go of me,”
Hannah’s grip on me slackens and I walk up to Levi, “How about we spar?” He asks.
Shit, why did I have to go and get all cocky, running my big mouth like that? He’ll probably kill me; I’m such an idiot.
I stand in a fighting stance and nod my head slightly. As soon as I do so, Levi charges towards me, throwing a punch at my face, not bothering to slow down or go easy. I blocked it immediately and grabbed his wrist, letting it glide past my face as I aimed my elbow for his knockout point, his neck. Levi noticed and ducked down, bringing his leg up to kick my shin. After the kick, I recoiled and jumped up, landing a kick on his left shoulder. He rolled to the side but quickly jumped back up, resuming an offensive stance.
Again and again, over and over, we clashed against each other. We each landed only very few hits on each other, but they were strong ones, sure to leave dark bruises.
After a while, I decided to end this. I ducked under his upcoming arm and twisted behind him. And then I kicked him. In between the legs. He groaned in pain and fell to his knees.
I pull him down on his back and straddle his waist. “Told ya,” I say with a smile.
I stand up, only to be flipped over and back to the ground. I open one of my eyes hesitantly.
“What the hell, Hannah?!” I almost screech.
She shrugs and keeps a straight face. “I didn’t fancy your ending; I mean, kicking him in the inguina isn’t really to my taste,” She tsks.
“And who said I was fighting to please your taste?” I groan, standing up.
“I will flip you over again,” She warns.
"Ooh, scary," I mutter sarcastically.
I stretch my hand out to the lance corporal, Levi.
"Tch," He disregards my hand and stands by himself.
“Heichou, your pants are quite dirty, I’m sorry, I can wash them or something, but… “ My voice trails off and a few people cock their heads at me.
