Before the time war
A woman’s screams were heard throughout the house, the planet on Gallifrey full of happy children playing outside, the woman’s scream echoed again and a woman is seen holding her legs up, spread apart arms around her knees to support it and a Doctor sitting in front of her.
“Okay, one more push and your baby should be out. The head is out, so you just have to get past the shoulders. Are you ready?”
“Just get it out of me!” The woman screeched painfully tears falling down her cheeks as her husband, the king of Gallifrey stroked his Queen’s pink cheeks.
“Okay, go.” The Doctor said.
The woman pushed her shoulder out before she took a deep breath and pushed again tears welling up in her eyes as this last push seemed to be taking the longest and soon after, crying began to fill the room not just any cry but the wailing of a baby being brought into the world, not just any baby the Princess of Gallifrey and as the prophecy would be fulfilled – a very powerful time lady.
The woman let out a cry of relief as she fell back into her bed the man beside her kissed his wife’s forehead as if he couldn’t be filled with enough love for the woman he had once been arranged to marry. “You did well Artemis.” He smiled with pride as the Doctor brought the baby over and handed the child to Artemis.
“It’s a very beautiful healthy little girl.” She smiled and turned on her heel to leave the new parents to admire the child who Artemis had been in labour with for 15 hours, the baby took her mother’s finger pressing her lips into little kissy faces as she opened her eyes and looked up at her Mum.
“What shall we name her my love?” The king asked looking down at his baby girl who was quietly lying in her mother’s arms.
“Rakayea Sydney Elonar Starling .” The Queen whispered watching the baby with admiration and so much love that not even she knew she could have for one person but somehow seemed to be falling in love instead of out of love with the new Princess. “Looks like Daddies going to have to be protective because of how beautiful his Princess is going to grow up to be.” She cooed to Rakayea and Artemis was right, the great king Rhagae was going to have to look out.
Because the princess would not only grow up to be beautiful and break millions of hearts- but would grow to become very powerful.
Day of the Time War
“Rhagae hurry up!” Artemis urged as she held the child tightly with her arms, the child was crying the sounds outside almost frightening Rakayea to death, King Rhagae and Artemis ran up to a space shuttle placing the child and turning around to go in it but the sounds of the door trying to be busted open made Artemis freeze in her tracks her gaze glancing back to the weeping child in the basket Rakayea’s lip quivering with each tear that slid down her cheeks.
“Artemis there is no time we must send Rakayea away without us we’ll catch up to her.” The king said calmly trying to hide the sadness in his voice as he pressed a few buttons and the shuttle started powering up the door started being pounded on again and Artemis glanced back at the crying baby, the gold eyes looking at her as if to be begging for her not to do this. “Come on we must go!” He snapped grabbing her hand and started pulling her forward as the shuttle flew out Artemis nodded calming the flowing tears as they ran out the emergency exit door.
