If a house is a 45 minute walk from a school, then why does it take a bus 40 minutes to go the same distance. I mean really, at this point I'm better off riding a horse from my grandparents ranch.
My phone beeps telling me that I got a text from Adam, one of my friends.
"Dude u almost here?"
"The bus is going slower than the fossil who's driving it," i reply back, refereeing to our driver.
"LOL c u soon."
He texts back right as the bus screeches to a stop. I stand up and walk of the bus, making sure to stay near the edge of the road. The other kids gave me as much space as possible. Sometimes a bad reputation has its perks.
I had my beats blasting and my head held down as per usual, so I didn't see a very tall, pale, hocolaye brown haired girl, with blue eyes and a messy ponytail walk off her bus starting at her phone. Or how she stepped right on to me. I spun around sending her flying onto the street.
"Shit," i cursed as she planted herself right in front of a car.
I grabbed her arm and started to drag her to the sidewalk. As I was tugging her I heard her shoulder make a sickening pop. She winces right as we make it to the sidewalk right as the car would have hit her. We sat on the sidewalk in silence for a while until she spoke up.
"What the heck just happend?" She stutterd.
"Well princess,' she frowned at the demeaning nickname, 'you almost became human roadkill, because you thought that whoever you where texting was more inmoprant than your life, a boyfriend maybe?"
"Guess again, brain dead emo kid," she snapped at me.
"The point is that for some reason you thought that getting run over on your first day was a great thing to cross of your bucket list."
"Okay dude, back up. First, don't jump to conclusions while your are half to blame for this mess, yet did you almost die. I think not. Do you currently have a dislocated shoulder? I think the frick Not. Now if you'll excuse me duck head, I'm going to the nurse."
I sit there in shock as I realize that I just got smack talked by a geek in a stranger things shirt. Wow, I've hit my all time low. She tries to stand, and fails. Okay this is getting pitiful now.
"Oh, fuck it," i mumbel as I grab her backpack and start walking towards the school, ignoring the fact that all of the other kids are staring at us.
"Hey, wait up!" She cries.
I look back to see her limping towards me
"Did you hurt your leg also?" I snap.
"Its just a scratch..." she mumbles.
I look down to see her whole lower left leg deprived of skin." holy hell! That wasn't there before!" I yell in surprise.
"Hell yes it was captain oblivious. You where just too busy running your mouth and complain about something that didn't even injureyou to notice. Now I would like to go to the nurses office before I faint from blood loss." She snapped right back at me.
Okay, screw it. I pick her up and start to carry her towards the school.
"Oh for Christ's sake, I can and have been walking. Just carry this," she says shoving her back pack at me at full force.
Then I felt an arm around my shoulder.
"Wow, I never thoughtthat a first day could be this shitty," Adam remarked with a smirk.
"OH, fuck off, will you," i growl back at him.
" you know im still telling Anna, right," he replies with a laugh.
I groan. Oh my God Anna is going to give me living hell for this!
