The vein in her neck pulsed with the tick of the clock above her.
Tick, tick, tick. Beat, beat, beat.
She would die.
Just like all the others had before her, he would make sure of it.
"I have never smelled something so sweet, like a feast I know I mustn't indulge. But I want it just the same."
His lips were getting dangerously close to her jugular.
He wouldn't be able to resist much longer.
She didn't mind. This was the game she always loved to play.
"Don't be so weak," she murmured near his ear.
This angered and aroused him. What mortal could tell him his thirst was weak and live to tell the tale?
This one, apparently.
He grazed his teeth against her pulse point careful not to puncture but close enough that she knows that he could and would if he wanted to.
They were both the villains in their stories.
