Unknown POV
As she dipped out of the bench, her jacket got caught on something and her shirt lifted just a bit and showed a little bit of blue and purple skin.
What the f*ck? Were those bruises?
She managed to unhook herself and dashed out of there but I found myself running after her.
As soon I got out too, she was nowhere to be found.
F*ck where did she go?...
Wait a minute... Why do I care? I asked myself.
I don't even know her!
"I need to get a f*cken grip on myself, " I grumbled.
Imani's POV
Oh my gosh, I'm so stupid! Do I not know how to talk to people anymore? "Uh, Um, I-" what was that? I cursed at myself.
That was absolutely embarrassing! Where did all those people even come from? I asked, beating myself up about it.
It did feel nice to sing and play again though. I smiled.
My mom taught me to sing. I remember just watching her as she sang a song while doing the dishes, cooking, or any other chore. My mother used a music teacher at a high school so she was really good at singing and playing instruments. She taught me how to play the piano, and she was always singing around the house so I guess I just picked it up at some point.
The last time we sang together was years ago. My uncle claimed it was just noise and threatened us that if we ever sang again we would be punished. Ever since then, we stopped singing together. Unfortunately, since my mom has had that habit for years, she will occasionally hum a tune and get in trouble.
Just thinking about it made me miss our happy days and I actually shed a tear.
Damn it! That's the second time today!
I don't like crying, my father and uncle hate when I do. I'm an "annoying b*tch/slut" when I do.
Darn, I'm feeling depressed now. I need ice cream. I deserve it! I convinced myself while laughing.
I use everything as an excuse for ice cream. Just makes everything better you know?
Now, where is the closest Ben & Jerry's outlet?
Time Skip
Imani's POV
I decided on getting a tub of ice cream so I could share with Raquel, Ariza, and the guys I was supposed to meet. Maybe if I had some leftover I could bring mom some.
The only question is what flavor? Vanilla? It's good but I always have vanilla. Chocolate? To basic. Strawberry? Ew gross. (No offense to those who likes these flavors)
I decided on mint and chip because my friends like it and Raquel told me that Ryder does too. Unfortunately, it was on the top shelf and the shelf was kinda high.
Oh well, we ain't quitters, are we? I asked, rolling my sleeves up.
Unknown POV
After the strange incident with the pretty-eyed girl, (don't judge me) I went back to looking around for my friends and the person that I was supposed to be meeting. When I got tired of going around in circles, I sat on the couches the mall provided for a little peace and quiet...
That didn't last long.
Girls kept coming up to me and asking for my number. I said yes to a few that I thought was cute and soon enough I had over 10 new contacts, I didn't remember to put a name to the contact though so I just put 'Girl from Mall #1', 'Girl from Mall #2', 'Girl from Mall #3', and so on.
I was getting tired of it after a while so I just gave them the number to my favorite pizza place that just so happens to be run by my mother and sister.
They are gonna be pissed, I laughed. Oh well, at least I'm helping them get more business.
*bzzzt* *bzzzt*
R: Hey, we are almost here. Like 5 minutes longer. Meet us at the food court, we want you to meet that somebody now.
Finally!
I texted him back saying, "Alright cool see you then."
When I finished, I looked up and saw that I walked over to a place with a sweet aroma. I saw the name and realized I was at Ben & Jerry's.
I can really go for a cookie dough scoop. I pondered seriously. Eh, what the heck, why not?
And with that, I went into the shop. I went over to the employee and asked politely, "Do you have the little tubs of cookie dough?"
"But of course handsome, right over there, " she answered leaning over the counter. I would have stayed and flirted but why do that when you can have ice cream?
I made it over to where she was pointing and sure enough, there were the cookie dough tubs. They sat right next to the bigger cookie dough tubs, the mint and chip tubs, and a girl climbing the shelf.
...
Wait, what?
I did a double-take and realized that my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. A girl was climbing up the shelf.
Wait, isn't she from the music shop?
She looked like she was climbing up to reach the bigger mint and chip tubs.
Wow way to go for it, I laughed.
I took a closer look and whenever she reached a higher step, her back would be exposed and you could see that she really had bruises.
*Creak* *Creak*
I snapped my head back and saw that the shelf was starting to sway. It was gonna fall forward and crush her! I ran over and grabbed her off the shelf, holding her tightly as the shelf regained its balance, shielding her from the dropping little ice cream tubs.
When the creaking stopped, I looked up to see the damage and
Smash!
a tub landed on my face.
Oh, that's just great, I thought. Note the sarcasm.
After it fell, I heard little snickers and giggles from the girl.
"Um, sir?" she asked as she lifted the tub off my face. "Are you ok?"
