Chapter 1

(Alora's pov)

      I was walking into my school like any other day, it's just that today isn't any other day. I dreaded coming to school today after what happened on Friday before the weekend.

"Alora, meet my girlfriend, Amber" It felt like my world shattered. "G-girlfriend?" I said, shocked. He smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist "Yeah!" He said smiling. He really seemed happy...

I held back tears as I pushed the memory to the back of my head 'He's your best friend, what did you expect?' I thought to myself. I finally reached my locker and opened it. I tried to come later than I normally would in hopes to avoid him as much as possible- "Hey Al!" I sighed 'So much for avoiding him'. I mustered a huge smile before turning around "Hey Luke!" I chuckled at the end for effect.

You see, Luke is my best friend since birth and we have been inseparable. Most people thought we were siblings, even though we looked nothing alike. After many years of being amazing friends, I found myself falling in love with him. At first I brushed it off as random thoughts that come with age but then my thoughts of him increased. I had to accept that I loved him but I wouldn't ever tell him.

He gave me a hug which I noticeably stiffened to but I guess he didn't notice it or he ignored it. We pulled from the hug and then he pouted "Why didn't you come over, we promised to play videos games today" he said. I panicked a bit and said "Oh something came up and I never got the chance to text. I'm sorry, maybe next time" I could tell he wasn't buying it but he smiled and said "Yeah, next time"

My first few classes were finished and it was lunch. I didn't want to go to lunch because I knew she would be there and it will not be a fun time. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate her but how would you feel if your crush and their girlfriend/boyfriend was around you being lovey-dovey?

'I could just go to the library and skip lunch' I thought but then "Al!" I looked down "Shit" I muttered. I turned to see Luke and Amber walking my way and it felt like Friday all over again. "Hey Luke, hi Amber" I said, mustering a smile. She smiled and waved and then Luke said "If you don't mind, Amber will be sitting with us" I smiled wider "I don't mind," 'I was actually gonna sit in the library before you came' "the more then merrier" He smiled "Great!" He grabbed Amber's hand and we walked to the cafeteria.
