In Between

First Day Of High-School

I have a cousin, that's like my bestfriend, her name is Alexandra, but i call her Alex. we grew up together, so we've been pretty close since like day one. Then i have a friend named Jordan. we're not related but i treat her like we are because my cousin is her sister. We literally are always talking and always together. Now, i also have this friend named Jalyn. we don't text her much, but when we are at school she is always with us as well. we don't really hang outside of school cause her parents are jahova witnesses and they don't really allow her to do things with us. we treat her no different but sometimes she just cant do things we can. All of us have been friends as a whole since 8th grade nothing could really tear us apart. After we got out of 8th grade, it was summertime. We hung out, chilled, texted, called, went to movies, did anything we wanted to do as we were on summer vacation. Until September came around & it was time to head back to school.

It was the first day of high-school and I'm psyched. Me and my friends have literally been dying for this day. I'm actually kind of nervous because what if I like get lost or what if im late on the very first day. that is like so embarrassing. everybody staring at me as i walk in is not what i want for my first day. So, as i woke up this morning i put on a basic outfit. Alex and i made a deal to just go simple on the first day. there was no need to really draw attention to ourselves. Me and Alex met eachother in the cafeteria of the school, which is where the school has us we meet each morning before the first bell rings to go to our first period. We sat at the table as we waited for our other bestfriends to join, Jalyn & Jordan.

We talked and talked and ate our breakfast as we waited for the first bell to ring. Jalyn never ate breakfast, she claimed all school food was nasty. I dont know what her problem was. I mean some stuff was pretty gross , but she was just being over dramatic.

As we split up and went to our classes. i was struggling to find out where to go. i couldnt find my first class at all. so i immediately went to someone , a stranger in fact, just to ask so i made sure i made it there on time. I dont know who she was but she helped. as i made my way into class and into my seat , i sat there the whole period wondering what everyone else was doing and how their class was going and if they even made it there okay. i know i barely did. My first period was math. which i was pretty good at. I barely listened as he went over the syllabus. i just wanted to leave to get to an actual exciting class that i shared with Jordan & Jalyn., Choir.

As the bell rang, immediately packed up my shit and headed out the room. I ran into Alex as she was heading out her class. we just talked for about 2 mins because she was heading the opposite way that i was going. She just talked about her reading class that she had left out of. As i headed to Choir, i ran into both Jalyn & Jordan . we met eachother at the begging of the hall. & walked to choir together. choir class is a little ways away, because our high school and middle school is connected and what separates it ..is a hallway. So, as we headed to choir i could kind of put together already some of the people that was going to be in my class, because they were clearly high schoolers going into the middle school side. i seen a few familiar faces, but paid them no mind.

As we got seated in choir class, our choir teacher immediately was nice. i liked the vibe she gave and she was just one of those teachers you knew you could already start vibing with. Plus, she was black and thats always nice. Just in that one class period we made a few more friends, people we never even thought we would ever talk to.

After second period, it was lunch. We barely hung around a lot of people so we didnt have a whole bunch of people to look forward to seeing, but we had eachother so that's all that mattered. It was just Me, Jordan, Jalyn, Alex, Jaiden, and Devon. Devon is also my cousin, but we arent really that close, Yet he's a good friend and i kind of think Jordan has a crush on him. They're both weird, they wont tell one another. so if they do like eachother they probably will never date. While, jaiden is sitting at our table. he's not all that welcomed. Me & Alex dont really like him. She always calls him a creep. which i agree, he is. in elementary he used to always see us at the grocery store and come to the car and talk and talk and talk and talk & we would just be like please go away. of course we didnt tell him that but we wanted to. Sometimes if we spotted him first, we would duck in the car and not get out to avoid him. Alex's mom would come back in the car and see us hiding and ask us why we were even doing that. Of course we explained nobody felt like seeing Jaiden and hearing him go on and on and how he was disgusting to us & we just dont like him. She would joke and say "Y'all say that now and watch one of yall be dating the boy." and we would just ignore her because there was no way one of us would even DARE.
