Kanato: Toxicity

Secondary characters like the teacher and guidance counselor don't have genders. I do this to keep it as vague as possible for you to relate better so I will be using the word 'they' to refer to those characters. Thanks for understanding!!

The teacher announced a partner project. You looked over at Kanato, but he was talking to some other girl. He seemed to be smiling, which he rarely did, even around you...

Your heart broke but knew better than to cry or worry. As an almost adult, you took his action well and approached your other friend, Azusa Mukami, who was at his desk fiddling with his bandages.

"Hey Azusa, wanna be my partner?" You asked with a smile. Azusa returned the smile before stopping, looking at something behind you.

"I-I don't...think I can..."

"Why not-" Turning around, you were met with none other than Kanato with an angered expression.

"What the hell do you think you're doing." His question was more of an annoyed statement as you backed away.

"W-Well, it looked like you already had a partner and I saw you smiling, so-"

"I'm tired of your excuses!!"

"I-I'm sorry!!"

But Kanato didn't seem close to forgiving you as he extending his hand and wrapped his fingers around your neck, lifting you into the air as he choked you.

"K-Kanato!! I-I can't breathe!!" You exclaimed, gasping for air, but his grip didn't loosen, in fact, it got even stronger and filled with rage.

Azusa did his best to remove Kanato from you but was pushed to the side. He called the teacher who came running in.

"Kanato Sakamaki!! Let (Y/n) down at once!!"

Kanato growled, dropping you to the ground. You started to cough, desperately trying to breathe again.

"Kanato. Guidance. Now!!" The teacher took hold of Kanato and dragged him away from you.

The other Mukami brothers ran towards you. "Are you alright?" Kou asked in concern, offering his hand to you. You accepted it and stood up off the ground.

"That guy ain't normal, (Y/n). Why're you still dating him?" Yuma asked as you shook your head.

"I don't really have a choice..."

"Maybe...for a bit...(Y/n) can stay with us...until Kanato calms down...?" Azusa asked his brother, Ruki.

"There's no way I could; if Kanato found out-"

"Then we'll make sure he doesn't," Ruki stated calmly. He looked into your eyes with a slight smile. "I usually don't care for mortals, but you're an exception. Stay with us for a bit until Kanato is able to cool his head."

You hesitantly nodded. Azusa happily took hold of your arm and led you out of the classroom so no one else could see the Mukami's teleporting with you.

Kanato's P.O.V

The teacher dragged him away to guidance and lectured the purple-haired child who ignored them. Kanato was now sitting in a room with the counselor he was more than familiar with.
