Narrator's POVJan, what a golden child.
He was always very positive and cheerful. When he was around, a good time was guaranteed. Now Jan was 18, not a child anymore. But not much has changed, he is still positive and cheerful, but not as much as before.
Especially when he had to move from New Jersey to New York City and live alone. But it was for a good reason right? Yes, definitely! He had to move because he had won a Scholarship to study in one of the most expensive theater schools in NYC! His whole family was so happy and proud of him and he was too.
Yet still, he felt like something wasn't right, he didn't want to leave his parents. But he pushed those feelings away and filled the left over space with positivity. He was so exited, he almost couldn't contain himself. It was hard to get accepted in the School, imagine to win a scholarship!
Days, weeks, months had passed since he got the scholarship, and today was the day! The day he not only moved out of his parents house but also moved to another state! This was truly the beginning of the rest of his life!
He woke up at 5:30, he was so exited and didn't want to be late. At 6 am he was already sitting in the car just waiting for his parents to get in. They lived kind of far from the airport, yet there was no traffic so they arrived a little bit early.

"So, I guess that's it! The end of an era...but the begging of another one!"
Said Jan, tearing up a little. His mom came close to him, put both of her hands on his face, looked deep in his eyes and said:
" I love you and I'm so very proud of you my boy! As you said, this is just the begging! Be brave and be proud! I believe in you son!"She gave her son a kiss on the forehead.
"Thanks mom"
Jan's dad came close to him and hugged him tight, while hugging he said:
"Don't fear son, I know change can be scary but don't let this feeling get to you. You'll finally see life with different eyes, you'll see it in a New Perspective. I love you.""I love you too dad, I love both of you so much! I'm gonna miss you!"
"Oh! I almost forgot!"
Said his mom looking for something inside her big purse."Here, it's a little something for you to take with you from home"
"It's Teddy! My favorite teddy bear when I was younger! Oh mom, thank you so much!"
"Whenever you feel homesick, hug teddy, It'll make you feel better"
After that, they hugged and said Goodbye.

The plane took off and as Jan looked out the window he whispered.
"Goodbye sweet childhood of mine, now all I see is a new perspective"He could feel his eyes getting heavier and heavier, so he leaned against the seat and in a few moments he was sleeping with Teddy in his hands.
