❝ You're the reason, Maya,
that I believe I could be a father someday. ❞

- Shawn to Maya.

Maya Penelope Hart

We should arrive in an hour or so.

The journey was good and it passed calmly.
I fell asleep for the last half hour:

«Maya!» Riley calls me and Auggie repeats.
«We will be at the house soon!»

I slowly open my eyes.

«Oh— yes, I'm up!»

I stroke my eyes and stare at the city from the window.

Philadelphia is beautiful.
Amazing or even more so.

«Mm— Auggie can you give me my backpack?!» I ask him and he just nods.

«Thanks»

I take out of it my brush, a mascara, some gloss, a tiny mirror and a mint.

I brush my hair gently and put the mascara and gloss on.

I offer a mint to Riley who accepts cordially.

«So, who are you trying to impress?» asks Topanga curious of why I'm getting ready.

I think up about what I should say other than: "oh, I really like your husband's brother that's why!", and I say:
«I just feel less insecure— you know?!»

She smiles at me: «Oh they will accept you just for the way you are, my dear! You're beautiful and they've met you before, it's not like — only because you are all grown up they wouldn't like you anymore!»

I laugh a little and thanks her, even if mine was a lie, it helps listening to things related to this problem.

I'm insecure most of the time; It really helps knowing people who accept you for being yourself.

Riley smirks and watches her phone not saying a word, I shake my head in despair.

«How much longer?» asks Auggie.

I turn my attention to Cory, who's all over the road and is paying attention to only that.

«Five more minutes Auggie!» he exclaims excitedly.
