(Cont'd)

He has commanded you to love and obey Him. He has called us to be His servants. Above all, He has provided the abundant grace to love Him and serve Him.

When you love someone, you spend time with them. Spend time with God by talking with Him, worshipping Him and searching His Word to know Him better and better. Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you. The more time you spend with God, the closer you are to Him and the better you know Him. The more you know Him, the more you'll see reasons to love and value Him. The more you love Him, the more you'll want to serve Him.

On the other hand, the less time you spend time with God, the farther you are from Him. The farther you are from Him, the more likely you are to compromise and fall.

What else do you do? "…make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]." (Romans 12:1-2; AMP).

Renew your spirit and mind by God's Word. You must not play with your fellowship with the Holy Spirit too. You need power to not sin but to please God, right? The Holy Spirit is that Power. He is however a Gentleman who won't intrude where He's not needed. He will speak to you through your conscience but He won't take control of your body to force you to please God. You have keep talking to Him in your heart, studying the Word and praying in the Spirit (speaking in tongues) to make that Power grow.

The Fear of God will help you to live a life that pleases Him. The reminder that you'll stand before Him on Judgment day to give an account of your life (where the motives and purpose of all your actions, both great and small will be crystal clear to everybody) will help you conduct your life appropriately. (2 Corinthians 5:9-10)

If you ever come to the point that you avoid ministers who preach the raw, undiluted Word of God, know that that is what your flesh wants. Don't listen to it. The battle can be won. It has already been won.

I sincerely pray that God will help us all to live holy and acceptable lives.

I'll leave you with these Scriptures that God will use to help you understand more about the battle of the flesh and winning it. My go-to versions are NIV, AMPLIFIED, LIVING BIBLE and MESSAGE BIBLE. I believe they will help to break down the Message more.
