beer bottles littered the floor. the house was a complete and utter wreck. this was the first thing theodore decker realized as his dark eyes flickered open to the early morning light that streamed into his room. theo's head was pounding as the scattered memories of the previous night flooded back. boris had given him a new drug to try. by the looks of it they had both chugged two bottles of vodka and more beer than theo could count.

it was his and boris's routine, as crazy and unstable as it was, theo enjoyed it. he just enjoyed being around boris in general. boris was his only true friend in vegas and the only person he truly cared for if he was being completely honest with himself. everyone else in his life felt insignificant compared to the russian sleeping peacefully next to him, wrapped up so snugly in the sheets. he smelled awfully pungent of vodka and cigarette smoke but somehow this intoxicating scent only drew theo in more and more. it made theo want more than to just lay next to him on opposite sides of his bed. he wanted to be close to him completely wrapped up in the smell and the relaxing aura he seemed to have only when he was with boris.

theo was always the one to wake up first as he mostly would wake up with horrible nightmares. but boris, he enjoyed his sleep. he could sleep all day if you would let him and most of the time theo would let him. he looked more peaceful then, with the morning sun dancing across his pale face. his raven curls fell in front of his eyes as he slightly stirred, but even out of sleep he never made an effort to brush them back. theo felt his face flush as he delicately brushes back a single curly lock. his eye bags were worse than usual but this was all apart of the boris's charm he supposed. despite sleeping all day dark fleshy purple rings still lined under his hazel eyes all the time. this intrigued theo. he wasn't sure why it did, but it did. soft freckles lined his nose that theo had counted one to many times on mornings just like these.

he felt guilty letting his feelings overtake him like this, especially when boris wasn't even able to muster his usual "fuck you, potter!" with a smile. theo knew he liked boris as more than a friend but how could he tell his best friend he liked him? i mean it could change everything between them. he was so afraid boris would never want to see him again if he told. he couldn't loose his best friend over something as stupid as a silly little schoolboy crush. he just had to ignore his feelings or how his cheeks would flush a cherry pink at each chance he got to play fight with boris.
he would just have to ignore it all, there was no other logical explanation he thought. theo knew he would never be able to tell boris how he truly felt. he was to scared. to scared to loose him and to scared of rejection. theo couldn't afford to loose another important person in his life, especially after loosing his mother so quickly and under such traumatic circumstances. he just couldn't.

"oh morning potter," boris's raspy voice spoke out from the silence. he stretched his hands above his head with a yawn which only made theo realize how close he truly was. a panic washes over him and he quickly backs away. he didn't want boris to think he was like some creep or something. "o-oh hey!"
