Igloo opened her tired eyes with a yawn, shifting her body which was laying down on a small canopy made from leaves. She stretched out her white wings and pulled them up to her face to rub her light-blue eyes with another smaller yawn. The light from the moons above beamed down, casting a shadow around her body and illuminating her sparkly scales.
"I need to get Orion so we can go.." Igloo mumbled to herself, now sitting up and stretching her claws. She'd look down at the other canopy's below the tree she was in, which few RainWings were resting in. She'd sigh, realizing the dragonets of destiny and the RainWing soldiers were still fighting in the NightWing kingdom with a worried shiver that shook her whole body.
Igloo spread her wings in the cold light of the moons, feeling more relaxed as coldness swept over her body. Then, she took off from the tall canopy, tilting her wings with the breeze as she headed down from the tree and onto the moist Rainforest ground. Her white talons sunk into the soil, freezing the roots she was crushing with each of her heavy steps. She walked off into the cold forest with the moons behind her, relaxing with the peaceful sounds of the Rainforest until she reached the opening where her and Orion had promised to meet at.
"Wake up, Orion." She'd whisper, placing her cold talon on the big NightWing and shaking him with a small grunt. He was sleeping right beside the stream, which lead to a large lake where a big boulder, which is also a tunnel that leads to the SandWing kingdom, was placed nearby.
"I'm awake! I- uh.. Igloo? What are you doing?" Orion would mumble, his eyes opening instantly as he jumped to his feet. He'd blink his eyes quickly, trying to keep himself awake. With a confused look, he'd stare at Igloo, stretching his big wings and lifting them to scratch his dark green head.
Orion and Igloo have been friends ever since they were young dragonets. Once the incident with Igloo's father happened, she fled to the desert and ended up finding a tunnel which led into the the Rainforest. There, she stayed and hid from the RainWings until Orion found her. He came through the tunnel from the NightWing kingdom and found her hiding behind the tree where the tunnel is at. Ever since then, they have been best friends and have looked out for each other.
"You dunce.. It's time to go! Do you have everything you need before we leave?" Igloo would reply, elbowing Orion's side with her wing playfully. She'd place a cold talon onto her NightWing friend's wing, looking up at the moons. They were starting to set, which meant they should start to leave soon if they want to avoid the RainWings after coming back from the fight so they could leave quickly.
"I'm all ready, actually.. Does that mean we can go now?" Said Orion, looking back at his back, where his leather satchel was placed. He quickly spun around to take off the satchel and shake it in his talons, showing Igloo he was ready, and after a moment of her observing it and nodding, Orion quickly placed it back on his dark back and peered up at his friend.
"So, we are leaving now.." Igloo whispered under her breath, lifting her icy white talons to underneath her neck with a little sigh.
"We are going to meet my mother.." Her light eyes looked down at her opened talons with a worried and paranoid look as she started to doubt herself.  Then, she clenched her talons confidently and looked up at the setting moons with determined eyes and a poised smile.
"It's time to go, I can't wait any longer!" She exclaimed, staring optimistically up towards the boulder. Then, she grabbed Orion's dark green talon with hers and quickly took off towards the boulder, her wings flapping frantically with excitement.
"Woah! Uh.. yeah! Let's go!" Orion exclaimed, flapping his wings quickly too to catch up with his IceWing friend.
Carefully yet swiftly, Igloo dipped her wings down to entered the tunnel, speeding towards the SandWing kingdom with confidence in her eyes. The two flew down the dark and dull tunnel briskly, both with a hopeful smile on their snouts with the crisp light from the sunrise shining ahead of them. The positivity practically beamed off the two, spreading throughout the sad and lonely tunnel and giving off a buoyant vibe. Right before the two friends entered the burning desert, Igloo let out one last loud, ecstatic call into the echoey tunnel.
"I can't wait to meet my mother!"
